Tejada wants future with Orioles
Miguel Tejada reiterated yesterday that he'd like to stay with the Orioles, but acknowledged that it is largely out of his control. At this point, the Orioles have had no serious discussions about trading Tejada, but that could change if the club falls further out of it near the trade deadline.

hyperRevue- I thought the exact same thing when I saw this, why in the world would he want to do that right now?

was Tejada asked this question? or was he just giving his bi-monthly state of Miguel speech? I say that because he often brings up the subject himself and his position on the subject changes.
That said, Baltimore is a great city(rampant crime aside) It could be he's putting his personal and family life ahead of his professional goals, which isn't a bad thing.

That bat looks like it needs another injection of B12.

As an Orioles fan I must say that Tejada has got to go. So he doesn't want to be traded? Let's wait 4-5 months and see if he reiterates that. Yeah his average has been great over the last few years...at first glance. The guy can't come up with clutch hits when it matters. 2-outs, runners in scoring position, a close game, Tejada almost never lives up to his reputation.
The Orioles have to trade him soon, seeing that his value is relatively high. The need a legitimate power hitter. And on top of that their bull-pen is awful, even after the millions spent trying to improve it this last offseason.

I agree, why?
The real question is when is baltimore going to make some serious moves to get into the AL East Race.

Hey mog and dofan, Tejada is not the problem in Baltimore, it's Angelos. If he would stop trying to run things and let the front office go after the legit free agents, then we wouldn't be where we have been. As for Tejada being a sorry performer, I guess if .310 and avg of 105 RBIs since arriving is your idea of a sorry performer, let Baltimore have 8 more.

u forget that tejada has been a zillion-time all-star. there isnt really a better option out there for the o's at the moment, and tejada certainly isnt the weakest link on that team by a long shot. is he the same player he was 3 years ago? of course not. but he's certainly better than the alternative, which is hardly anything at all.

dcfan07, the bullpen has been awful? One guy in the bullpen has been awful. Try watching a game before you comment on the team.

Please we don't want miggy back in oaktown, the same goes for Giambi. The A's have proven we can just keep on going without them. Miggy can keep waiting for the Orioles to win a title, well at least he has company like with cry baby Jay Patton who could not wait to leave the Red Sox and a few other ex Athletics...

the sad thing is baltimore overpays for second grade FA instead of going after the big boys. it's sad they won't be able to win in that division.
