Arkansas coach Bobby Petrino insists that he has mended fences with Auburn coach Tommy Tuberville. With Tuberville in trouble during the 2003 season, Petrino secretly met with Auburn officials at an airport near Louisville. When the meeting was made public, Petrino and Auburn received a major national flogging in the media. "We're fine," Petrino said of his relationship with Tuberville.

Bobby Petrino will soon be making the Nick Sabans of college football look like good, humble, honest people.

Petrino is such a goof, just when you think he couldn't look any worse, he finds another way. Arkansas is gonna be cursed for hiring.

That being said you know Tuberville will run up the score against Arkansas if he has the chance.

What's all the fuss about Petrino? Who hasn't leveraged their current job to get a pay raise elsewhere? I supposed you guys are the one's staying in a job from 18-55 and thinking their 3% raise is as good as it gets. Grow a pair...

May 28, 2008  01:42 PM ET

Jesse, get off Petrino's pair. You must be family or a blind Hog fan.

Here's what I don't get. Why can't the Pros, College sports come up with a list Coaches like Petrino and just not hire them. No one needs a loser like him who will just keep quiting. Glad to see the NFL NEtwork, in their Top Ten show made him the worst Coach ever.

May 28, 2008  02:13 PM ET

We'll dang, I was hopeing to see Tuberville punch Patrino during there mid-field hand shake

May 28, 2008  02:35 PM ET

Petrino is a business man. The old days of college coaches, coaching at Alabama for 25 years are gone. There is too much money to be made out there. The coaching profession is a stressful job to some extinct. Have you seen a 35 year old Coach look 45? He is trying to get paid, I don't like him from a distance, but I heard he is pretty knowledagle guy. It will give Arkansas all the attention they need.

May 28, 2008  02:36 PM ET

I can't wait until the Dawgs face Arkansas and put that coward even further into the SEC cellar. Petrino is a joke. I find it utterly ridiculous that Arkansas fans are proud of him after the way he weaseled his way around in Louisville, left them before his contract was up after saying he'd be there a long time, then left the Falcons before the season was even over when he realized he's not capable of professional coaching.

Arkansas fans, wake up. Two of your best players in recent years, Jamaal Anderson and Chris Houston, both said Petrino is a snake and warned Hog recruits to be careful.

May 28, 2008  05:21 PM ET

i guess blank didnt know that his qb was killing dogs for fun and would probably end up in jail, bet he forgot to metion that when he showed petrino his "team", let me guess the owner didnt know about vick, yea thats how he got to be succesfull head in the sand..

May 28, 2008  06:55 PM ET

Im from Arkansas and im not a hog fan, but when he came it was like a fiesta all over the place and i sat at home and laughed because three years fom now hell be gone watch.

THANK-YOU 915bass. If this doesn't get through to Arkansas fans nothing will.

Is anybody from Arkansas actually proud to have a bold-faced liar and quitter like Petrino leading your team?

If so, why?

How low are your standards?

May 28, 2008  08:16 PM ET

rudedawg, what does your comment about Vick have to do with Petrino? When Petrino was hired, nothing had happened yet. It wasn't until Vick's cousin got in trouble for something totally unrelated that law enforcement officials searched the property and found the dog fighting stuff.

If you are attempting to say that Petrino had justification in leaving the Falcons because the cards just didn't fall his way, you make even less sense than Petrino saying he had no choice. Petrino could have had 2 or 3 losing seasons and few people would have held it against him. But instead of being a professional and at least honoring his contract for the first season, he skipped town without even telling his staff or players.

Petrino is a slug. I hope Auburn puts up 100 on Arkansas the next time they play.

and meanwhile, Coach Nutt is working at the school that Tuberville screwed over. This is like a game of musical chairs.
