Clemens wants trial moved to Texas

Only a Texas jury can fully appreciate the pain Roger Clemens is suffering at the hands of Brian McNamee, according to an amended complaint filed Tuesday in Houston federal court by the Rocket's attorney. Lawyer Rusty Hardin added a charge of intentionally inflicting emotional distress to the defamation lawsuit against McNamee and claimed in court papers that the trial by jury must go forward in a Texas court. Earlier this month, the Daily News reported that Clemens had met with family members and friends to discuss dropping the lawsuit. Emery has promised to depose Clemens' mistresses, who may also be of interest to the federal agents investigating Clemens for perjury.

This will make for some good conversation today. Here Roger, take this shovel and just keep diggin yourself a deeper hole. Maybe they can let your family be the jury.

Sox fans tough break on Dice-K. Do you want LeTroy Hawkins????

May 28, 2008  07:07 AM ET

So wait...let me see if I understand this...Clemens files a lawsuit (an amazingly flimsy one at that) and now he wants to decided where the trial is held? Jeez this guys ego knows no bounds.

May 28, 2008  07:08 AM ET

Well Rocket Roid even if you moved the trial to Clemensville I dont think you have filed a winner.

Poor old Roger is suffering and it's all Brian's fault...cuz, ya know, he's the victim! ;)

The arrogance, ignorance, and gall these Texas morons still have is unfathomable. I actually believed Clemens and Hardin would use the half a brain cell they have collectively and drop this case. And instead we have this tidbit. I've been ignoring the recent Clemens T&Rs. But now I have fallen right back into the Clemens cesspool. Are there any white males in Texas who are not morons?

I live in Dallas and I went to Houston last Thursday for the Phillies/Astros series. I saw one Clemens jersey the entire time and I went to all four games. And it wasn't a jersey as much as it was a free shirt they hand out for promotional days. And it was worn by a 12 year old kid. I think he may be fooling himself with how much love he has left in Texas.

May 28, 2008  08:04 AM ET

You are so over, Roger. Next....

May 28, 2008  08:12 AM ET

I'm a white male in Texas... Not by choice though, since the AF brought me here. And, I could be wrong, but I don't think I'm a moron... But I could be wrong.

On topic: Of course Rog wants the trial in Texas... Duh. he wants it in Houston where he can pay-off the judge and jury. I heard he runs around dowtown flashed homeless people. What a jerk.

How is it that only a Texas Jury can understand the pain ?
Somewhere, there must be a connection between that analysis and TO's tears for Romo..
are Texans just more "sensitive" ?
Roger, give it up.

Ifin he gets to select the trial site, maybe he can hand select the jury. Maybe Bonds, Pettite, McQuire, etc.

At this point he can have a jury made up of his wife, kids and both his remaining friends and lose.

Perhaps they could put his mitresses parents on the jury. We know they can be bought, and cheaply at that.
