The Senators' search for a coach is heating up. League sources told Sun Media yesterday Senators GM Bryan Murray has already held face-to face interviews with Sault Ste. Marie Greyhounds coach Craig Hartsburg and former Atlanta coach Bob Hartley, with more meetings planned in the next 10 days. It's believed the Senators also plan to speak with former Colorado coach Joel Quenneville, Portland coach Kevin Dineen, Kitchener's Peter DeBoer and former New Jersey coach Pat Burns.

Sens need to make the right move here or risk becoming the Leafs west version...this could turn into a real clown show too.

Okay...lets just remember that the NYR with their huge payroll prior to the Cap the Rangers have only ever won 3 cups.

So I guess you actually are qualified to speak on futility and ineptitude after all.
I appologize. You're correct...you do know something about it.

LOL this team can't be coached.

I like the idea of getting a hard ass coach in there. Ottawa clearly does have talent, they just need to get back to team dicipline that got them to the Cup finals last year. Paddock was obviously a mistake and they need to go the opposite direction to right the ship.

um...1940 anyone?

May 28, 2008  01:44 PM ET

Harstburg would be a solid choice. He's done good things here with the 'Hounds. I know NHL is whole other level, but he's been there.

With the success of Bruce Boudreau Miguel, NHL Teams are looking much closer to the lesser leagues for good talent.

Burns or Hartsburg would be the best choices. They really need a kick in the ass after the way they choked this season away. However, its all irrelevant unless they get a number one goalie. Its been 10 years and Ottawa still hasn't found one.

Spezza for Luongo?

Take it from a Devils fan, Pat Burns is by far a great choice, and I personally would still want him as coach. This guy is a Phd in chemistry, he can create lines that work in a snap. I dont know too much about the other coaches but Burns i would say is one of the best.
