SMU lifts QB's suspension
As expected, SMU junior quarterback Justin Willis will be back with the Mustangs this fall. Coach June Jones said Tuesday that Willis, a two-year starter, has fulfilled requirements to rejoin the team since being suspended in February and missing spring practice. The suspension was related to academic concerns and missing team functions. Jones has said since late March that he expected Willis to be back to compete for the starting job. Willis has passed for 51 career touchdowns. He set a school season record for total offense with 3,643 yards in 2007, and his 2,944 yards passing ranks third in a season at SMU. Jones hasn't ceded the starting job to Willis, saying the best quarterback will play. Redshirt freshman Logan Turner led SMU during spring camp. Incoming freshmen, including Katy's Bo Levi Mitchell, could also be in the mix.

Hammered,
Money is a factor in ALL equations. Plus recruiting in Texas is like a kid in a candy store compared to recruiting in Hawaii.

Don't any of you dare say Hawaii lacks talent. Kahuku High School (in Hawaii) has produced the most NFL athletes of any other HS in the nation.
But to the topic, June works best with troubled athletes. The majority of his stars were troubled. -Pisa Tinoisamoa (Jail) - Colt Brennan (Accused of Rape/Expelled from U of Colorado) - Devone Bess (Caught up in theft incident) and the list goes on.
But basically, June gave all of his kids second chances, and did very well with them.
