Devils want to keep Pandolfo, Brylin

While pointedly making no promises, GM Lou Lamoriello told The Post yesterday that he'd prefer to keep career Devils Jay Pandolfo and Sergei Brylin next season. Clearing up confusion, The Post has learned that the Devils hold a team option on Brylin for next season, besides the player option Brylin has, either of which would return him for another $1.52 million in salary. The deadline for exercising each option is June 30, one day before he could become an unrestricted free agent.

Wow, a story about Brylin and Pandolfo... I`m guessing this made front page news on the Post... lame

May 29, 2008  09:14 AM ET

And this will fix all the Devil's problems.

They suck!

May 29, 2008  09:21 AM ET

way to sound commited there Louie boy...
He'd "prefer to keep" these two? Wow, what a vote of confidence. I bet these guys are chomping at the bit to sign with all of that enthusiasm Lou is showing

OK...wake me up next time whatever canadian team he likes wins the cup. I could use the beauty sleep and it looks like I'll get alot of it.

If they sign them both, who are they going to get rid of to put hossa and iginla in the lineup?

May 29, 2008  10:26 AM ET

hahaha, I love it. I mostly said it to get SOME kind of comments on this brutal story, and here we are.

For the record, as some of you are clearly unaware of the soap opera that is my avatar, I lost a bet to bostongm and as a result have to have the Bruins logo as my avatar until the end of the playoffs. My team - and it has nothing to do with bandwagon jumping, they have been my team since Christ was a cowboy - is the Red Wings, so if the carve is to call you next time the Wings win the Cup, well...

May 29, 2008  10:26 AM ET

sorry, to WAKE you next time...

May 29, 2008  10:27 AM ET

because we all know you'll be sleeping watching your boring a&& team play !

The way this team spends, If they sign them both, they won't sign a Free Agent till Louie grows his hair back.

must have been really boring for you to watch your "exciting" team get swept by the devs in '95.

I found it very non-boring when kozlov got up looking out his earhole from the stevens hit.

enjoy the cup this year...(sorry pens)

That was 13 years ago. I'm pretty sure that Detroit has adjusted by now

but you haven't forgotten...and devs have 2 more cups and a string of division wins to console themselves with. not my fault it took DET 13 years to get here, devs did their half over that course to set up the rematch.

1 cup every 4 years is good enough for me

May 29, 2008  01:01 PM ET

Uh, this'll be the Wings' 4th Cup - two in a row in '97 and '98 kinda took care of the sore spot from losing '95. Then the one in 2002 was pretty cool, and if 2008 pans out, I'm sure the Wings will be just fine. '95 is pretty much forgotten, other than by Devs fans desperate to grab at something as the NHL passes their team by

yes..I'm feeling desperate grabbing at 3 cups in 13 years.

that is more than most teams (outside of DET) have seen in 30 years or more (am I right NYR, BOS, PHI?)
