Campbell knows way to San Jose

Senators GM Bryan Murray has made no secret of his fondness for Brian Campbell, the brilliant skater/puck mover/power play quarterback who will test the UFA process July 1 if he isn't re-signed by the Sharks. Campbel, would certainly be among the plums of the market, too, potentially attracting offers between $6 million and $8 million per season. But right now, he and his agent, Larry Kelly, are permitted to talk only with Sharks GM Doug Wilson, a star with the 67's from 1974-77. The conversations are apparently going well -- and are held often.

Canadia propaganda. Flyers will get him

May 29, 2008  08:36 AM ET

He would make the Flyers pretty dangerous, but I'd like to see him stay with the Sharks or go to the Bruins. Then the Bruins would just need a few scorers (maybe get Boyes back, what a piece of .... deal that was), and a real goalie.

May 29, 2008  08:57 AM ET

Since we are all wishing here, let him go back to the Sabres.

May 29, 2008  09:01 AM ET

Yeah Murray can sign another really good puck-moving Dman, just so he can trade him and ruin the season like he did with Corvo. I`m sure Cambpell is gonna sign with a team that doesn`t have a coach, right. Keep dreaming Murray.

The Flyers are gonna have to get rid of Jeff Carter because they don`t have the money, I highly doubt they`d be able to afford Campbell.

Why NO Wings/Pens article?????????? SI is nuts and I wanted to turn this venue into something. Rats.

May 29, 2008  09:43 AM ET

Yeah, no Pens/Wings because Babcock actually respects the Pens for putting up a good fight last night and didn't blame the refs for anything.

May 29, 2008  09:48 AM ET

Outofshapeguy- Obviously they couldn't find any any Stories to write about the game last night.
I agree...I was looking for one myself...no relative thread to comment about either team or the game...

May 29, 2008  10:02 AM ET

The most overrated d-man on the market...Any team that's stupid enough to drop $6-8M on him needs to seriously examine their management.

May 29, 2008  10:04 AM ET

hes going to the leafs!!

May 29, 2008  10:05 AM ET

So let's make our own. I'm sure someone has something to say to start us off. Last nights game was fun to watch. A lot of back and forth action, very few stoppages, lots of hard hits. Makes for a good game. At least detroit scored a couple of goals against them. Wings in 5

May 29, 2008  10:05 AM ET

sho nuff, you don't follow the flyers at all do you, Paul and snider both said they aren't letting carter go anywhere's they will match any offer given as for campbell Theflyers will have enough money to sign him Priemu contract is up Jason smith is moving on,Rathje already said he was going to take the insurance buyout this year, And to top it all off right there is 15 million dollars off the cap from last year, not to mention if gane is not at a 100% he already said that he would go retire he said that lastnight on comcast sports net

May 29, 2008  10:06 AM ET

oh ya hatcher said he is seriously looking to retire but won't make up his mind till July 1

May 29, 2008  10:07 AM ET

I'm not saying the flyers will get him but just they do have enough money under the cap

Gee Joe...Based on those comments...are you sure what you were doing was watching a hockey game?

May 29, 2008  10:32 AM ET

I agree Flyers will get him. Last night was a geat game.

May 29, 2008  10:37 AM ET

Pretty sure it was a hockey game but I could be mistaken. Wouldn't want to offend you. LOL. It did seem better than watching Detroit totally dominate as they did in the first two games. And I am a Detroiter through and through, And yes Detroit did dominate most of last night's game as well. But pitt did put up a little fight.

May 29, 2008  10:42 AM ET

If you guys go to the SI main page under the main Stanley Cup Finals . Go to the thread for Muir you will find a forum to yell about last nights game

May 29, 2008  10:44 AM ET

Thanks Joe...I'm on my way.

May 29, 2008  10:50 AM ET

Nope couldn't find it Joe...next time why don't you just post the Link...that would be more helpful.
