Former NFL player Randy Cross' son, Brendan Cross, is preparing for his senior season as quarterback at Chattahoochee (Ga.). The younger Cross' budding football career includes scholarship offers from Air Force, Bowling Green and Miami (Ohio). "I got the offer from Bowling Green at the end of spring practice and was told by my coach today that I'd be getting a call from Miami (Ohio) tonight about an offer," Cross said late Wednesday. And the 6-foot-2, 195-pound QB is scheduled to attend camps this summer at Louisville, South Florida, Vanderbilt and Wake Forest.

At least he is scholarship worthy. Those aren't the biggest of programs, though.

Both B.G. and Miami of Ohio are decent football programs. The MAC was really on its way a few years back but kinda dropped out of sight. The University of Toledo was another good MAC school that should be on its way back.It still isn't really a QB developing conference though, but has produced some decent players.Roethlisberger,Pennington,Chester Taylor, and even Randy moss was in the MAC before Marshall decided to go to Conf. USA.

Hillbilly Jim! wow, I had forgotten about that guy....was he Mid South wrestling or WWF?

Anyhow, the way I see it "any DI scholarship is a good one" Having the ooportunity to play at that level is a privelage.

If the kid is anything like his father, then he is a class act and will succeed..

Miami of Ohio is one of the Top 10 winningest programs in college football history and has probably had the greatest collection of coaches iof any program in college football. Paul Brown, Sid Gillman, Ara Parsegian, Earl "Red " Blaik, Woody Hayes , Bo Schembeckler,Paul Deitzel, Carmen Cozza,....Just to name a few. Not too mention maybe the most beautiful college campus in the United States.

well Louisville has done some good work with QBs...bad news for him is Phil Sims's youngest son is at UL right now and he redshirted last season

You can also make the argument for South Florida. Grothe is coming up on his final years there and with the stellar running game that they have there he wouldn't have to win games. As for you J Hova how is Vanderbilt, Louisville, Wake Forest and Miami OH not big programs yeah they are in the MAC. But Wake Foriest is in the ACC and was at a BCS game not too long ago (as was Louisville). Need to be a bit smarter the next time you are commenting.

Big doesn't always mean better. Big comes with baggage. I'd tell my kid go to Wake Forest, play under Jim Grobe. That man is a class act, although its not an act. GO DEAC"S
