Packers removing Favre's locker

In what was meant to be a sincere and genuine gesture to honor an NFL legend, Packers general manager Ted Thompson said he planned all along to have construction workers remove Brett Favre's locker from the locker room and give it to the retired quarterback as a small token of thanks for 16 seasons, two Super Bowls and three most valuable player awards. As late as last week, Green Bay's first new quarterback in 17 years, Aaron Rodgers, was forced to field not only the customary questions on replacing Favre but also how he felt about Favre's locker still looming over him and the questions of his possible return still gurgling under the surface.

Once again flags have been lowered to half-staff in Green Bay. Rest in peace Favre's locker, rest in peace.

It has to smell like socks.......should go in the formal dining room.

thats dumb
what the hell would Brett Favre want with a locker ? Imagine going to the gym and pulling a single locker from the row of them, and bringing it home..what the hell would you do with it?
Give him the nameplate of his locker , a wristwatch or a pen, have a roast for him and say goodbye already

Women don't get it. His favorite jockstrap is in that locker.

May 30, 2008  08:28 AM ET

This locker should be bronzed and roped off!

May 30, 2008  08:29 AM ET

What the hell is Brett Favre doing here?

May 30, 2008  10:02 AM ET

He's in your house?

LOL!!

I think they are one game late in removing his locker. Last January it would have made a difference. Too late now..

May 30, 2008  11:26 AM ET

TED IS JUST TRYING TO BRING BACK FAVRE

May 30, 2008  11:32 AM ET

Brett can't come back now. Since he's on this year's cover of Madden NFL, he would suffer a injury anyway.

I'm a little suprised that the Packers didn't decide to put the locker in the Packer Hall of Fame, but still nice to give it to Favre. He can put his rakes, shovels, and hedgeclippers in them.

This is a great move by the Packers both as an honor to Farve and one less distraction by the media to Rogers.

HAHAHAHAHAHA!

He still has pills stored away in it....

Is it usual to give someone their locker? Wouldn't this be better in GB sports museum? Did he really want it and, if so, what's he going to do with it? Why not auction this off to a crazy cheesehead for charity? It strikes me as a bit weird.

May 30, 2008  03:15 PM ET

He'll now have somewhere to put his dirty overalls in while working on his land.

May 30, 2008  03:57 PM ET

I'm with you Watson...does Favre really want it? Why not in the Packer Hall of Fame? I've never taken the tour but I want to and that's one of the 1st places I'd stop on the tour.

May 30, 2008  04:10 PM ET

Brett,

Call Thompson and let him know that he can take that locker and stick it where the sun don't shine.

I'm so tired of Brett Farve Stories. Let him retire already and go ahead and proclaim him best player that ever existed. Just let me know when you're done so I can watch football again.
