Down by a goal in the final minute of regulation. Trailing by a run in the bottom of the ninth. Choose your preferred sports analogy and apply it to the prospects of the NHL staging its next Winter Classic outdoor game at Yankee Stadium on Jan.1. With desperation setting in, the three parties who must work out the complex logistics associated with the event - the NHL, the Yankees and the Mayor's Office - plan to sit down next week for a Stadium hockey summit. "This is not dead yet," NHL deputy commissioner Bill Daly told the Daily News.

Well if the analogy is that it is the Yankee's trailing by a run and since the Rangers lost their final game in OT - this is obviously going to be played in Chicago!

One winter classic each winter should be enough! Otherwise, it is no longer a classic! The Red Wing - Blackhawks classic is a go. Take a number, NY!

how" bout they shovel off the middle of lake michigan, erect some stands, and have a classic pond hockey game!, chicago enters from the illinios side and the wings enter from the michigan side, and the loser has to skate all the way back to there side!

There has been recent speculation that a game will be played in Michigan...When Hell freezes over.
The way to Hell, MI though is somewhat problematic...As I understand it, you have to pass through, Gay, Paradice, Climax en route...Not sure too many players would want to skate through those Towns on the way home. However, I'm guessing it would be one Hell of a hockey game.

And they are going to decide who is playing at what future date? The week before so the NHL can blow another TV deal?
