'The Catch' doesn't haunt Harrison

The remarkable on-the-helmet, falling-down catch has been replayed over and over since Super Bowl XLII, but not in the mind of the player closest to defending it. It's not that Patriots safety Rodney Harrison is in denial or anything of the sort. He hasn't forgotten David Tyree's improbable 32-yard reception, or Eli Manning's slippery scramble and high-arcing pass that set up the Giants' winning touchdown. He's just put it in a place he believes it belongs. Almost four months to the day from one of the more painful defeats in his NFL career, Harrison simply calls the key play inexplicable. "Not in a million years does he make that catch again," said Harrison.

This was what Parcel would call a PLAYMAKER moment.
But I don't think David Tyree is a playmaker, so something spectacular like that will probably never happen again

Actually the play that should haunt the Pats is the ensuing TD to Buress.

June 1, 2008  08:48 AM ET

Doesn't matter if it never happens again, all that matters is that it did, and the Patriots lost.

June 1, 2008  09:08 AM ET

Pure concentration. What luck to make the 1 in a million and to do it against the Pats. Karma or what ?

June 1, 2008  09:19 AM ET

Harrison's Bad Karma for using the HGH.

The Pat's have serious bad Karma for cheating and are destine not to win anything for years.

June 1, 2008  09:20 AM ET

He wouldn't have made the catch if Rodney was still on HGH. Rodney would've had more strength to rip the ball away. Just kidding.

June 1, 2008  09:27 AM ET

The TD was inevitable and we would have had several more shots to put it in the endzone. That 3rd down catch is definitely the defining moment of the game. If he doesnt make that catch, its fourth and long and probably game over. GO GIANTS!

June 1, 2008  09:32 AM ET

'The Catch' is just one of many plays that will forever haunt. Almost is just that ....ALMOST. GO BLUE!!!!!

June 1, 2008  09:35 AM ET

You people make me laugh.

June 1, 2008  10:08 AM ET

Harrison will be fine, but you have to wonder what kind of play the Pats are going to get from their corners this year..

It was far from inevitable because, like you just contradicted yourself, it would have been fourth and long and game over.

His comment was meant to make someone angry. Looked like it worked.

KP, try being a Cowboys fan. It's hatred X 10.

When the Giants falter and lose games they were supposed to win I, a Pats fan, will not taunt their fans on this site or make asinine comments about the team.

As it is written, so it shall be done.

Anyone see the South Park episode about that teacher in the hispanic school "Stand and Deliver". Where he teaches the kids to cheat like Bill Belichek. LOL one of the best. Even my friend loves it and she is a diehard Pats fan.
