Boozer interested in Heat move

08:36 AM ET 06.01 | With the Heat eager to clear big 2009 salary-cap space to add another elite player, one logical scenario -- if the Bulls pass up on Derrick Rose -- would be drafting Rose at No. 2 (Miami's hope) and pursuing potential free agent power forwards Carlos Boozer or Elton Brand in the summer of 2009. But if Miami drafts and keeps power forward Michael Beasley, Pat Riley faces harder decisions. Although nothing can be assumed in free agency, an associate said Boozer -- who has a residence here -- likes Dwyane Wade and would be very receptive to Heat interest in 2009, when he is expected to opt out of his Utah contract. Brand displayed a liking for Miami when he signed a Heat offer sheet that the Clippers matched in 2003. Brand can opt out this summer, but the Clippers do not expect that. They believe he will sign an extension or play for $16.4 million next season and become an 2009 free agent.

The Jazz or the Clippers should be smart and trade them to Miami for their draft pick right now.
They'll be gone next year anyway, so why not try to get something in return?
Brand and Boozer both want to go to Miami.

It's a win-win situation for everybody.

we dont need marion hes old and a big risk boozers young and proved him self in a diffrent team

June 1, 2008  09:16 AM ET

Boozer- good player-
will CERTAINLY go wherrever he most $ is-
as he did to Utah (pre williams- when they were potentially awful

Brand-
also good player- but with his history of injury-
I wouldn't offer him any BIG money- too risky with guaranteed contracts

I see Brand in Miami more than Boozer. Boozer and D-Will are inseperable. They can also trade for T.J. Ford for Marcus Banks and Ricky Davis. Trade #2 pick for Marcus Camby and Linas Kleiza.

PG - T.J. Ford, Chris Quinn
SG - Dwayne Wade, Daequan Cook
SF - Shawn Marion, Dorell Wright
PF - Elton Brand, Linas Kleiza
C - Marcus Camby, Alonzo Mourning

This could be a dangerous team.

Brand does not have a "history" of injuries. Before this season, he's missed a total of 5 games in the last 3 years. If he's recovered from the achilles tendon surgery, he's a solid choice for anybody, and Miami would be lucky to land him.

Boozer to the New Jersey Nets. We need a good PF.
PG- Harris
SG- Carter
SF- Carmelo (If trade happens)
PF- Boozer
C- Camby (If trade happens)

That is a very dangerous team.

June 1, 2008  10:23 AM ET

either one of those guys would make that team an instant east contender. along with marion. man, i like that lineup.

June 1, 2008  10:48 AM ET

Boozer 2 miami with Rose & my fav player D Wade thats a lethal combo & Marion, with help from Ricky Davis & Quinn & if we get that intl player who plays like Memo Okur we are sure 2 make the playoffs again.
Riley plz dont mess up a good oppurtunity for my Heaters to win 59 games next season!

TJ Ford is horrible.

June 1, 2008  12:37 PM ET

How would the Nets get Boozer

June 1, 2008  12:39 PM ET

Sorry Heat fans you're not getting Rose

June 1, 2008  01:04 PM ET

that very dangerous team has too much offense and very lil defense they wouldn't get past detroit, the celtics and i think the cavs could beat them...

June 1, 2008  01:46 PM ET

Boozer leaving Utah wouldn't surprise me at all, especially with what he did to Cleveland awhile back...

June 1, 2008  01:48 PM ET

J. Hova, I thought Boozer wouldn't leave the Cavs. So who knows?

June 1, 2008  02:11 PM ET

If the Bulls are take Beasley, the Clippers should trade Brand to Miami for the 2nd pick and draft Rose.

Brand should sign with the Heat. He wanted to play there before. Again the Clippers are back to their old self. Bad luck, losers. Crappy owner.

Achiles tendon tear? He's high risk now. better be careful with him as that is a serious injury. See Patrick Ewing.
