Taylor: Trade request not a demand

Jason Taylor denied reports Sunday that he demanded to be traded from the Dolphins, but did acknowledge for the first time that if Miami wants to move him, he would be receptive. ''This thing was never supposed to be a confrontation,'' Taylor said. ``This is not about me versus Bill Parcells. It has digressed to be a confrontational situation. I'm here to tell you that's not the way I wanted it to be.''

Tohell with the Dolphins. Parcells really sucks.....big time, anyway. I hope the Jaguars would bring him in for 2-years. He can make movies and play ball - at the same time. Parcells is an imbicle.

glad its not a demand. b/c don't know there is a demand for him at his current price.

I see we are fortunate to get our daily dose of enlightenment from Bond. Where does one go to sign up for Spectre?

June 2, 2008  08:45 AM ET

great picture. What teams going to give up anything significant for an admittedly very good player whos playing one more year.

June 2, 2008  08:50 AM ET

I am sure his age and working with Parcell changed his tone quick.. I would be glad to make the big bucks and play but they should go healthier and younger...

June 2, 2008  08:54 AM ET

Taylor is smart. He's under contract for next year. If he refuses to show up then they not only don't have to pay him, they can also fine him. But, if he shows up and they won't let him in, then he forces the Dolphins' hand. They either have to let him practice or let him go (or trade him).

Parcells needs to get over himself. Despite how "girly" he might think it was for JT to do DWTS, that fat slob wouldn't last more than about 5 minutes on the dancefloor without keeling over from a heart attack.

As far as "dedication to the organization" goes, I have a feeling that JT's 2-more years in the NFL may well be one more than what "the Big Tuna" lasts.

June 2, 2008  08:58 AM ET

I agree about Parcell but Taylor is playing for Parcell who does not care about Taylors legacy or what he means to the team in leadership. The Fins have all the cards and he is in his last year of his solid contract.. At his age; he should play and keep quiet.. he can talk, walk or do whatever after next year when he holds the cards.

June 2, 2008  08:59 AM ET

By the way... If they stay loyal after last year.. The tuna wil be around awhile..He wanted a different coach and if they struggle they will not blame him.

*drj0514* Wanna bet?

June 2, 2008  09:57 AM ET

Parcells will be given every opportunity to change things in miami. Nobody is expecting him to turn this team into a winner overnight, they were possibly the worst team in the history of the game, that buys some time. Unless the team goes 0-16 next year he's going to have plenty of time to mold this team.

What's with all the parcells hate?

June 2, 2008  10:05 AM ET

Vocal Point- Yes. They will give him time to either lose, build or win but to say less than two years does not fit their style of management and Parcell will enjoy making the decisions and getting the money and not being on the sideline.. it is easy to blame a coach. However, he may do well in this position but everyone knows it is a mess and no one expects a miracle next year.. He is older and this is probally where he belongs... So.. yes.

June 2, 2008  10:11 AM ET

Taylor should go play for The Jets. That way, he can stick it to Fat Boy twice a season

June 2, 2008  10:25 AM ET

this is a non-issue....really. football people know that JT is still very effective. to include parcells.....so what, if he needles the guy a little a bit about 'dancing with stars' or even questions JT's commitment to dolphin's organization. its classic tuna, he wants to see where JT is at. if his in it to win it or just riding this thing out to go to hollywood. don't be surprised if JT stays and has yet another monster year
that's one thing i won't question about the tuna is his ability to find and put together personnel that will give you a better than average shot at winning

June 2, 2008  10:31 AM ET

Maybe those smooth moves he learned will help his gam? He'll end up in New England...they ALL do eventually.

June 2, 2008  10:32 AM ET

*"His game" Oops.

Taylor to the Cowboys.

June 2, 2008  01:03 PM ET

Steelers should sign him to a one year deal. They dont get nearly as many sacks as they need or used to.
