Why Brown signed with Celtics
In February, P.J. Brown was fielding calls from a handful of NBA teams from the start of the season - in fact, each of the four teams in the NBA conference finals was pitching Brown: the Celtics, Lakers, Spurs, and Pistons. But it was not until two players - first Paul Pierce and then a double team of Pierce and Ray Allen the following night - asked him to come out and play that Brown was persuaded to leave Louisiana. Now, he's playing for the Celtics as they take on the Lakers in the NBA Finals beginning Thursday. In his 15th season, Brown is playing in June for the first time.

This is a dumb question...obviously he did what many old, never won anything players do at the end of their careers...jump on somebody's bandwagon and try to get a ring for sitting on the bench. Why do you think ET's sitting on the Celtics bench with a diaper on?

He simply jumped on the bandwagon with Cassell. Another aging veteran looking for a last chance to win a ring.... I feel for the Celtics, but I hope LA wins. They only benefited from 1 unbelievable trade... not a series of modern day miracles to resurrect a dead organization. The NBA must be loving this.

He didn't go out looking to join a team. Teams came to him for what he could add to their team. I'm happy for PJ. He's a guy you never heard get in trouble and that from what I hav sean and heard about him is a good guy. I'm glad to see him playing in the finals. No, he's no superstar, but he is a good role player.

I am a die hard LAKERS fan and have been one since before Magic became a LAKER. PJ Brown is not a bum and I am happy for him to finally make it to the big satge and I feel the same way for KG. But, with that being said, I hope the LAKERS beat the h@#* out of Boston.

PJ is a great guy, good player too. I hope he came back for the money, though. Because the Celtics are going to take a beating in this series. They had too much trouble with Cleveland and Atlanta for me to believe they are going to beat LA, even with home court advantage.
Now that Kobe has a team and is using them, he has every bit the impact on a game that Jordan did.

PJ is no different than Malone, Payton, Mourning, Cassell and so on. They want to ride the coattails of others to get their ring. Sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't. I guess we can't blame the guy for trying. A tarnished ring is still better than no ring.

PJ has already paid for his ride. Can you rememeber that 12 foot baseline jumper against the Cavs after LB had cut the C's lead to 1?
