Taylor hasn't burned all Miami bridges

Chalk up one more small reason why defensive end Jason Taylor's potential return to the Dolphins this season shouldn't be considered unrealistic: His relationships with key members of the team apparently are not broken beyond repair. After revealing Sunday for the first time that he is indeed willing to play in Miami (rather than retire) if a trade isn't worked out, Taylor was joined later in the evening at his charity gala at Hard Rock Live by coach Tony Sparano and general manager Jeff Ireland.

Taylor doesn't seem the type to demand things and burn all his bridges. I'm sure he's upset with some of the developements from the fins and is probably hurt by some of the critisism he's getting from the media over the dancing and acting stuff. But hey, why can't Taylor do off season things that don't involve football? He's earned that much.

As for the dolphins and him. Who knows. I live in Miami and listen to this stuff daily. Whatever happens, happens. This isn't new to any of us fans. He may seem disgruntled, can't blame him if he is. If he demanded a trade, fine. But I don't think relationships have gotten so bad that he doesn't have any friends left in the organization. Even da tuna knows he's either got a heck of a player or someone he can get some players with.

at least we have a new picture.

Trade him to Dallas for G.Ellis and B. Carpenter. The later is Bill guy (trash) anyways

all we need him for is 1 year.. and he has at least in him...

June 3, 2008  08:18 AM ET

His agent would discourage any relationship with the Pats. Not a good thing if you want the public to love you.

June 3, 2008  08:50 AM ET

I am changing my name to 'Pats never got a trial' or 'CoachBilllovesya' or 'Bigbrotheriswatching'. I don't know. Those Penguins will not go away.

The one thing that bothers me is when did Jason Taylor become an In-demand A-list celebrity who has a ton of movie offers. He did Dancing with the stars, Z-list. Does anyone remember an athlete having a huge acting or music career after leaving. (Magic Hour, Firestorm, Must be the Money) Just stick to football b/c in a year you'll be doing direct to dvd movies with Michael Dudikoff and Eric Roberts. Although Eric Roberts rules!

I know off topic but does it get any better than to have the red wings fans chanting "we want the cup" with 34 seconds left only to give up the tying goal and eventually lose! Priceless!

JT, pour gasoline on that bridge, and burn the hell out of it.

Be self-centered, and join a team that will actually win more than 4 games this season.

sick, sick pens game last night.

As I always said, this whole thing is a media concocted rift. More specifically, the Herald. Avoid that paper like the plague!

Don't you think your earlier comment is asking a lot more than what is given.Ellis for Taylor is a fair deal if Ellis wants to leave.Carpenter on the other hand will become a star in Dallas.
I have seen all your comments, and they always want to enclude Carpenter.
Dallas might trade Carpenter to the Dolphins for a first round pick and Taylor. You know it and I know that Carpenter will turn out to be a great Linebacker.
All Dallas has to do is wait for the Dolphins to cut Taylor.Dallas will than pick him up and they will have Taykor ,Ellis, and Carpenter on an already awsome Defense.Maybe Dallas will be willing to trade Terry Glenn for Jason Taylor.

June 3, 2008  02:24 PM ET

Doesn't matter if the GM and coach like you, if Parcells doesn't like you it won't matter. He needs to suk up to the right person.

June 3, 2008  03:01 PM ET

I wish he goes to Dallas, but I would take Ellis over Taylor any day.If he goes to Dallas, that he goes on a trade that encludes a fourth round pick for him.No players.Well maybe Terry Glenn for Taylor.

June 3, 2008  04:15 PM ET

Isn't everyone tired of this soap opera by now?? If the dolphins are gonna let him go let him go or trade him do it already so he can try to get his ring before he retires.. If not gl taylor with the dolphins...
