RB's speed produces offers

After receiving just one scholarship offer (from Mississippi) during his junior season, Columbus High's Jaamal Berry said he picked up six ( Florida, Florida State, LSU and Ohio State) the week he ran a 4.43 at the Nike Combine and a ''ton more'' after running the 4.31. Berry hopes the school he grew up rooting for -- the University of Miami -- will give him an offer. But the Hurricanes, who already have an oral commitment from Wichita Kansas's Bryce Brown (the nation's No. 1 running back in the 2009 class), are said to be only looking to sign two running backs this February. And the Canes have already extended their other offer to Miller.

Florida just landed a RB (I think his name is Gillespie...sp?).

He's probably better off going to Ohio State. Beanie Wells could be gone after this season, which means some early PT for him.

Everyone wants to play for Miami. The Canes will be back on top or near the top in the next three years. That swarming defense and all that speed watch out baby!!!

Go to Mississippi. They were there when no one else cared about you.

Berry is the number one running back that OSU has offered. Would like to see him in scarlet and gray. I agree that Beanie is likely gone early after this season.

Canes will live to regret this after at least one of their studs gets arrested for something. Florida has no need at RB, realistically, Meyer needs some fast kids on the D. It would be cool if he signed with FSU, then upset Miami in their annual game by gaining 234 and 4 TD's.

The kid should pick a school that will have him play to his benefit. He is in the perfect area in picking a SEC team, with his speed he will fit well with any SEC team.

Go to Clark County Community College in Meridian. It's just down the road from Columbus and you can eat Mamma's home cooking on the weekends. Kidding. If you're that fast and talented, if you don't come to LSU (Where you'll have to wait in line for 2 years) go somewhere other than the SEC, we don't need the competition. Go be an Akron Zip or a Hoya......................

What a waste of talent if he goes to Miami.

I agree, but the name of the game these days is 'what can you do for me?'
