Villeneuve team plans denied
Barry Green denies the information published by the daily newspaper La Presse saying that Jacques Villeneuve, himself and Normand Legault would have created a partnership to establish a team for Villeneuve to run in the Sprint Cup Series next year. "We have no intention to establish our own team within NASCAR. We are trying to find a primary sponsor for Jacques," said Green to RDS.

Jacques Villeneuve Hasn't done anything in nascar
and even though it was in the 90's he won a CART championship,
the indy 500, and a formula one championship.
I like to see talent. So I would love to see him try NASCAR so I can see what he has left.
I can see the people in Concord, North Carolina getting a little cranky about having a French Canadian "Meddlin with ma racin"

Villeneuve is an immense talent and it would be NASCAR's loss if he didn't get a ride. I get the impression the typical NASCAR fan doesn't think the "sissy" F1 drivers can hang with good old boys rubbin' fenders. This is false. NASCAR and Formula One are so different that it's hard compare the drivers. Just like no one would expect a NASCAR driver to make an immediate impact in F1, no one should expect the opposite either. It takes time to adapt to a completely different environment. That's what makes Mario Andretti's career so remarkable.
