Pistons may want Woodson

Hawks general manager Rick Sund has been on the job for just a few days and already he's having to deal with the rumor and innuendo that come with the job. Sund is still in the examination stage, trying to get a lay of the land before making crucial decisions about the franchise's immediate future -- namely how to proceed with a head coach, Mike Woodson, whose contract expires June 30. But Woodson could actually be a candidate for other jobs, namely the head job in Detroit. His name has surfaced in the Pistons' search to replace Flip Saunders, who was fired Tuesday after back-to-back Eastern Conference finals flameouts with a veteran cast.

Woodson has had to deal with one of the most disorganized front office in the NBA. A team that passed on CHris Paul, despite Woodson's desire to draft him. Wodson ahs not won a lot of games, but he has been playing with a group of kids (that he did not draft) averagin under the age of 24.

If Atlanta fires Woodson, he would be a very good fit in Detroit. Everyone knows how much he wanted Chris Paul, and was overruled. Then they go out and acquire Bibby. Woodson would be much better off away from the inept front office in Atlanta.

WHAT??? Yes, it makes sense that Woodson would be better off outside of Atlanta, but would the Detroit Pistons be better off with Woodson? I don't think so...
