Nationwide points may shift

Only six Cup drivers are entered in Saturday's race, and six of the next nine series races are stand-alone events - not paired with Cup races. The reduction of Cup entries will likely do two things: increase the chances of a non-Cup driver winning and drop some of Cup drivers not running a full schedule out of the top 10 in points.

Cup drivers get more people to watch on TV.
Still I would like to see Bobby Hamilton Jr or some other nationwide driver win from time to time.

Thats the way it should be, no cup drivers or limit the amount.

Absolutely, JNF. The only Cup drivers that should be allowed in a Nationwide race are those who never raced in the division before. Once a driver has "graduated" to cup, there should be no going back.

Asbel is right......the Cup Drivers increase viewing. I went to the Nationwide race in Charlotte instead the of the cup, while the hell not? Less expensive ticket and didnt take me 4 hours to get out of the parking lot. Got to see Kyle, Hamlin, Kosoloski, and Jr finish. I like the mix.

I am plagued with bad English today - sue me.

Agree jackmanrob -- and you didn't have to look at those stupid looking COT things ... YET!

If you like "proving ground" races...ya can't beat the Nationwide Series. On the one hand, I get tired of seeing the Cups guys comning down for testing, etc. On the other hand, the Cup guys bring in the $$$ to keep the series alive and like some of you say, its flat cheaper and can be just as much fun. If you're nuts like some us, if its got four wheels (I';ll even settle for two) I love to watch 'em run. The points thing in Nationwide don't really matter, expecially if you are runnin in the Cup Series. Besides, if you've already got a trophy, why would you want a second one in the number 2 series. Its like kissin your Momma!

Gilliland got his ride in Cup by winning a Busch race for a small team and while beating the cup guys. That was ideallic proving ground.

Another thing about Cup guys being in Nationwide, is that the junior drivers have higher standards to work for. IMHO this works for them later. If they only competed against other junior drivers and moved up to the Cup level, they would be deeply shocked when they ended up in the last 5 all the time. This way, they get a chance to up their game before they reach the bigger dollar Cup level. I see this Cup driver and junior drive mix as a good thing..

HAHAHA....POOR Newman. His car will be next in conflict with Verizon buying Alltel announced today.

I agree with what most of you are saying, but a few years ago when Truex was battling Busch for the title that was interesting, watching Harvick or Edwards run away with the title blow big chunks.
The cup drivers should not get points, or only be allowed to run 10 or 12 races.

It blows my mind when Edwards or Harvick is so proud of winning at this lower level, (with the best equipment money can buy) yea Kevin/Carl you beat Chase Miller and Brad Keselowski and a whole bunch of drivers no one ever heard of, good job!

Hammered_everynight I agree in part with you
Harvick And Edwards walked around like kings
while the less funded teams chewed hind **** - it
just isn't right that they should grab all the points
and money from the small teams,
the last part of your comment Hammered_everynight
is spot on.

There has to be a solution here. I like limiting the number of cup drivers. After 3 years they should only be able to run Nationwide a few times, letting other drivers get their turn.
