Running back LaMont Jordan's Raiders career is all but over. That much crystallized Tuesday, when he was informed by coach Lane Kiffin in a pre-minicamp meeting that the Raiders intend to move forward without Jordan. Jordan's agent, Alvin Keels, said he has received permission from the Raiders to seek a trade. "We have not had any success at this point in doing so because there are many moving pieces to such a trade" Keels said in an e-mail. "However, with new developments going on around the league, maybe something can be done in the coming days."

The question is, "Is anybody open to trading for Jordan"?

June 5, 2008  07:48 AM ET

did he ever have a career ?

June 5, 2008  07:54 AM ET

Jordan's mom wouldn't trade for him.....

June 5, 2008  08:09 AM ET

Put in retirement papers.

A couple days late as usual, T&R.

Word on the street is that Al Davis won't cut Jordan because he is afraid Denver will sign him. There was another rumor floating around out there that Al Davis is insane. One of the two is undoubtedly true.

Does his agent, or the player, really believe any team would pick up a 4+ million salary for him? He will be cut soon enough and there for the minimum if he wants to play.
I think the Raiders were lucky to get McFadden in the draft. There will be some teams kicking themselves for years..Kiffin is an excellent coach, and if Davis will just go away for a while , the Raiders will surprise a lot of teams this year..

Hello Cincinatti

June 5, 2008  09:15 AM ET

"Hello Cincinatti"

why would cincinnati want this guy. bengals are so deep at rb they couldnt find a spot for hometown hero shaun alexander. baring an injury to any of the bengals backs, jordan wouldn't be higher than 6th on the depth chart there.

teams like bears, broncos, fins are more likely homes for this guy.

Unfortunately both may be true

June 5, 2008  09:45 AM ET

Dolphins, Bengals, San Diego (Insurance - since Turner left), Philadelphia, Jets, Houston (insurance), Green Bay, Chicago, Titans, and there ar others that could use Jordan in a "back up or insurance role". But, definitely for a lot less money.

June 5, 2008  10:52 AM ET

Trade him back to the Jets. He made his name backing up Curtis Martin and the Jets could use another back behind Thomas Jones.

June 5, 2008  10:52 AM ET

That would also keep Leon Washington as a KR/PR which is his best role, anyway.

June 5, 2008  10:54 AM ET

Al Davis' reported asking price? 1 bag of slightly used practice footballs (MUST be inflated) and ten rolls of tape...ok, nine.

June 5, 2008  11:30 AM ET

How 'bout the Bears? Couldn't hurt.

Both are true. He also wears depends.

June 5, 2008  11:53 AM ET

There is also a rumor that Al DAVIS is an alien, and that Jerry Jones is a clone of himself the real Jones is fossilized in a ahcmber at Texas stadium...
