for who? Ottawa basically just let their #1 defenceman walk away in Redden, they let Chara walk two years ago. That leaves Volchenkov, Phillips and Meszaros as their top 3 d-men. How many of their top d-men do they think they can let go and keep contending? Not knocking the Devils here, but look what happened to them after letting THEIR Top 3 guys go!

Hopefully Holmgren can take advantage of him.

Really, holy sh..that's an amazing gift.

The Sens collapsed, yes, but I wouldn't say they are out of it yet, Baun-ded. They certainly embarassed themselves this season, but if they can get a Tortorella in there to right the ship, and have a smart off-season by signing some character guys who can play (Malone, for instance) and give some secondary offense at the same time, then they should be back in the thick of things. They can't afford to keep dumping their upper end defencemen though, or they'll be the Lightning of the North.

And my SuperStack Syndrome STILL doesn't have me believing that Campbell will be in Philly next year. Even if he fits in their Cap and all that, his style ofplay doesn't fit that team's culture. He's smallish and not overly physical, which doesn't sound like too many Flyers over the years, other than the currently hated (somewhat) Briere, that is...

If Holmgren pulls this off....that'll be ANOTHER former 1st rounder that he plucks from another team....Upshall (2002), Coburn (2003), Parent (2005), Lupul (2002), Hartnell (2000), Gotta like the way the man thinks....1st round talent at LOW LOW prices....

The Coburn move was amazing, Atlanta was out of their mind, he hasn't even reached his potential yet and he's pretty good already, same goes for Parent.

If they lose Smith and Hatcher who will provide the veteran leadership on the back line with Timonen? Every defenseman would be under 25....aside from Timonen....

I'm hoping Holmgren pulls this off....this trade could be a "Coburn-like" deal....Meszaros could turn into something very good....a guy who went -15 last year to a +5 this year is great progress for a young defenseman....

My question is what do the Flyers give the Sens for him? I hope Carter isn't going to part of that deal. There are still so many rumors surrounding him. RJ Umberger could be a possibility. Other than that, it would have to be draft picks.

If they need to make cap room give up a guy, if not give a 1st round pick either this year or next.

The Sens need to get rid of GM/Coach Murray the guys a moron. He cost them a return the Finals by firing Paddock after the All-Star break and they didn't do nothing with him. They probably would have still been either 1st. or 2nd. place in season end standing without the Coach change.
They lost Chara couple of years ago, traded away Corvo this year and now letting Wade basically walk away without making an offer. Now he's going to let Meszaros go also, come on Mr. Melnyk fire him and save the Sens.
