In the wake of the Jozy Altidore-to-Villarreal news, fellow U.S. international Michael Bradley could join EPL side Middlesbrough, who have cut off rivals Everton and Newcastle with a $6 million offer to his Dutch club Heerenveen.

Could be a decent move for him. That's all I got...

June 6, 2008  09:22 AM ET

Decent move. True enough. Wish he would follow Jozy to Spain though.

June 6, 2008  09:24 AM ET

Ok move, but Bradley needs to show better than what he has showed in the two U.S. friendlies against England and Spain. He has looked pretty bad.

June 6, 2008  09:31 AM ET

Might help improve his toughness and overall stamina playing in the EPL. He clearly lacked that during the friendlies

June 6, 2008  10:21 AM ET

Bradley is an EPL style player.

June 6, 2008  10:44 AM ET

He is not ready for EPL ... For what I have seen in the last two games, man bro, he looked lost, out of position, can NOT hold on to the ball, made erratic passes...a total mess. And that fould towards the end of the game, just pathetic!!

June 6, 2008  10:46 AM ET

For my game againts Argentina I would play

Cervi on goal
Hedjuk, Orozco, Bocanegra on defense
Mastroeni, Armas, Sizzo, Beckerman
Donovan Beasly
Mcbride

Agree, agree, agree! Bradley is not impressive and shouldn't be in the starting lineup.

June 6, 2008  11:12 AM ET

Quelle horreur!

June 6, 2008  11:20 AM ET

Can you say, Feilhaber Part 2?

June 6, 2008  12:46 PM ET

I just read on L'Equipe's website that Rennes is pondering an offer for Bradley. Bradley in a decent team in la Ligue 1... Better than Middlesbrough's bench...

June 6, 2008  01:25 PM ET

what has to be remembered here is that Bradley was being used as a striker at Herenveen and scored 19 goals for them....in the US MNT, his father continues to use him as a defensive midfielder...IMHO, that is totally wrong for him...go with what works....if Boro are going to buy him, they should use him in the same manner that Herenveen had....

June 6, 2008  01:39 PM ET

I don't know bro about Bradley, I want all these guys to do well but I am really worry about our chances in amking to the WC. This is not a cohesive group. Watch both the Englad and Spain game again and you'll see my point. They are playing kindergarden soccer they are all bunched up, they ALL go after the ball and they ALL defend in a "street soccer like" type of play. See the goal Spain scored Onyewu, Bocanegra, Bradley, Hedjuk they are all basically obstructing each other...and the goals England scored bro...Onyewu has to go, never liked him never will...he is oh so slow bro!

June 6, 2008  02:25 PM ET

He's ready for the big leagues. He burned up the Dutch league this year. You can't judge him by two games where he went up against the best center midfielders in the world.

June 6, 2008  02:44 PM ET

All Bradley naysayers are clearly basing their findings on 2 international friendlies that were played and merited absolutely nothing as far as how he has played at club level. The guy killed it this year and playing everyday for your club is much different than playing for a few weeks with the nats. Boro, Toon, or Everton would be smart to snatch him up. The kid isn't even 20 and has a lot of promise.

Bradley's ability to play box to box is vital to the US. If he isn't in there covering Rico Clark's disgraceful play against England the score could have been much worse.

I is...

dude, i have a huge problem with the lineup we're putting on the pitch right now too....however, in years to come we are going to look much different....i'm sick of Onyewu and Bocanegra as our center backs....soon we'lll have Spector and DeMerit taking the reigns, and it'll look much better for us....especially with Bornstein playing as our LWB.....We'll have a MUCH livelier team once Braldley (or whoever the manager is at the time) we realize we have plenty of quickness through the midfield that should be implemented through Freddy, Benny, DMB and Clint....those are our future guys right there....play Jozy and Bradley up front....we have a brighter future right now than most realize.....Onyewu is a waste and so is Bocanegra.....that game against England was horrible especially having to look at Ricardo Clark and Josh Wolff getting starts...both of those guys have no business being in our starting XI....and Eddie Johnson is just snake bitten man....no 2 ways about that....so use him in a sub role....

Well said Bro!

June 6, 2008  03:06 PM ET

It's all abotu quickness. Did you see Argentina againts Mejico....dang bro, that dude Aguero is for real!! Pound for pound the best forward I have ever seen in my life...and what a compliment he is to Messi and Fernando Gago is a destroyer in the midfield....man bro, I was impressed! I can only wish my National team had that quickness....out with the Bocanegras, Onyewus, Johnsons..all those slow players..

June 6, 2008  03:11 PM ET

Im pretty sure he played midfield for Heerenveen, not striker

As I understand it Bradley was being used as essentially an attacking mid. Alot of his goals came about because he was in the right place at the right time to knock in a ball from a good pass or a rebound. If you think he should be a striker on the USMNT based on his inflated club numbers your off your rocker. He is not a striker!
