My take on Redden is between 4-5 million...I should think he may prefer to look at a more competitive team & also Martin may not be around for the long haul either, so...

That useless floater ain't even worth $3.5 million! He screwed the Senators big time a la Alexei Yashin. Once the ink dried on the contract sheet, he showed up only when he felt like and never when the Sens needed him, like in important games or the playoffs!

Unfortunately, the article is right! He "won't be out of work long." Some d*opey GM is going to "reward" him again with an insane contract! And, he'll keep floating his way through his NHL career.

Oh! What could have been if only he had one ounce of character! He's got the goods but he's a lazy bum, just like Yashin!

I don't think he truly cares about winning, so Florida may be a perfect fit for him to go unnoticed.

2nd...Most of the Sens team was a major let down and Redden is a top 4 defenceman on any team in the NHL...Not top 2...Top 4...Even on Detroit. Coaching matters.

I don't know about the top 4 in Detroit there Baun... Lidstrom, Rafalski, Stuart, Kronwall.
Could put him on the third line with Lebda's speed and get rid of that useless Lilja.

The proof is in the pudding, Boun-ded. He's been a major pain in the Senators a*ss ever since he signed that insane contract, just like Yashin.

Not questioning his talent (he's loaded and has the ability to be top 4). Only his character. They know what he can do, they just can't get him to cooperate, just like Yashin.

MH wings...I guarantee you under Babcock...Redden would bring an entirely different game...and for talent he Stuart and Kronwall are not in his league...However, I used The Wings only as an extreme example...not many teams have their front 4.
Redden is a top 4 guy. I honestly believe his problem in Ottawa is too much pressure to have to be number 1 when in fact he isn't. Its not his fault the Sens overpaid for his services. Take some pressure off him and he will return to form.

Toronto needs a change.........Redden could be a good fit. If they get rid of some of the crap. he has good view of the ice and likes the long flowing pass, alot like Kaberle.

Ain't it amazing, every year the Senator fans single out a player and trash them. I guess this year it's Wade turn to be the scape goat for the '07-'08 failures. I hope the Hawks sign him. The guys amazing to watch, still has what it takes to be a top rate D-Man in the NHL and we'll see how much they wished he was still their this fall.

This guy has A LOT to prove. I think any team that signs him is gonna be better off. His ego is definetly bruised from the way he went out in Ottawa, you gotta think he'll want to stick it to them.

If he was willing to take 4 mil a year I'd love to see the Habs sign him. monster27 is right on about the Hawks, he'd fit in well as the veteran guy on a young team.

If the off the ice habits are true, the Hawks might be better off leaving him alone. No sense inviting a corruptive element to a dressing room that is full of young guys.
