Colts may pursue linebacker

The Colts haven't closed the door on pursuing linebacker Rosevelt Colvin or any other veteran free agent, but the time for such an addition is winding down. "I don't know where we are in the process, but we'd probably like to get it settled one way or the other pretty quick," coach Tony Dungy said during a recent break in the team's ongoing summer school.

Roosevolt Colvin....put a fork in him. He's done

This is my 1000 comment and ironically it is on a Colts story. So here goes:
Colvin has lost a step or two but he might be a good fit for the Colts for a season or two. He might be an upgrade at OLB to go along with Brackett at MLB. But I don't know if you pay him the kind of money to get him to come to Indy.

As a player, Colvin's out of gas. Age and injury have taken their toll. On the other hand, he might be a good presence as a limited role player and on the bench.

He won't play for peanuts and I don't see the Colts giving him the more than $5 million like he got last year.

c note |

yeah, but he might take a pay cut to play with a contender. Besides, what team would give him that much money anyway?

The Texans are supposedly interested in him and you know if the Colts like him Tennessee must like him. They always seem to want our rejects anyways.

I'm not sure Colvin has passed the physical the Texans just gave him. I think if he was able to pass a physical, New England might have brought him back. I think he has a few good years left in him alright. It's just a matter of whether or not his foot is back 100% I think it might not be.

No way was he going back to the Pats. They were committed to getting younger at LB. Plus with the drafting of Mayo they wouldn't bring him back as they now have 7 or 8 LBs on the roster. It will be cut down and reduced but still he didn't fit with what they were doing.

Why not pick him up for a season or two? Colts picked up Booger Mcfarland from Tampa. He didn't do a great job, but having an expirenced player like them would help out the D.
