Cuban serious about buying Cubs

Billionaire entrepreneur Mark Cuban, one of the Major League Baseball-approved bidders for the Chicago Cubs, expects to receive confidential financial data on the team any day now and said Friday on a Chicago radio show that it is his "job" to convince everyone he is the best choice to own the franchise. Cuban also told WMVP-AM 1000 he "definitely would want Wrigley Field to be part of the deal," despite the fact Tribune Co., which is parent of the Chicago Cubs, has considered selling it separately, either to the Illinois Sports Facilities Authority or a private buyer.

Great now will have to see his stupid smerk in chicago to that stinks .

He would be the better option than Selig's pick.

Isn't this like the 7th time this same headline has come up? I read Cuban wants to buy the Cubs every other day. Geez...

Yeh, he's worked out really well for Dallas. How many championships has he brought them?

We need someone who can win.

Cuban would be great for the Cubs. He's done everything he can to buy a winner in Dallas and actually did already. Had it not been for the worst officiating in NBA Finals history, the Mavs would have been champs in 2006. His players love him and the Mavs fans love him too. He is a fan and that is what you want your owner to be rather than a Selig zombie or part of corporate America. Cuban is the best of all possible worlds for the Cubs. Anyone who can't see that is a fool.

Cuban would be great for the Cubs and for baseball. Let's be honest, the sport coul use another owner who actually cares about how the team is performing instead of just its profits.

He could definitely be good for Chicago. He is committed to signing good players and making the team a contender every year. I doubt Selig's croney will be willing to spend the dough to make a winner. Cuban's only problem is he micromanages and could butt heads with Sweet Lou P.
As for Wrigley I think he keeps the tradition alive by staying there but look for him to make some renovations - probably more luxury boxes at the expense of regular seats.

Maekchu - you are the fool! Open your eyes, he treats his team like it's a freakin hobby!

PS How's Dirk doing?

Where were the Mavs before he bought them? He is the sole reason for their success. Ask any TRUE fan, not a poser mind you but a true fan who remembers the days of Tony Dumas Samaki Walker. I know I'd rather have playoff basketball and a SHOT at winning that winning 9 games all year. I hope he doesnt buy the cubs because then his attention will be split.

Anyone else find it ironic that "Hillary Clinton" says Chicago needs "someone who can win"...? Anyways, I like it, Cuban has passion and he won't be happy with the Cubbies being the "lovable losers" anymore. Plus, he wants to throw Wrigley in the deal. The Mavs were terrible and he's made them contenders almost every year. And oh yeah Cowboys5217, lets not forget about the greatness that was Donald Hodge... he missed layups.

But I'd feel bad about the name change from the Cubs to the Cubes.

I hate the Cubs almost as much as the Yankees, but it would be great for baseball if Cuban bought the team.

And if the gutless owners would demand a salary cap so that all teams could compete.
