Who's next on Bulls coaching list?

Bulls general manager John Paxson has spent the week working on a fallback plan for a head coach since the first signs that Doug Collins' expected hiring was being second-guessed. Phoenix Suns assistant GM Vinny Del Negro was the latest to interview with Paxson, who was unavailable for comment Friday. Paxson was all for hiring Collins, who decided Friday to take his name out of the mix. Dwane Casey and Sacramento Kings assistant Chuck Person interviewed again with the Bulls this week. Other than Collins, Casey is the only known candidate with NBA head-coaching experience.

Maybe pull your head out and think of Avery Johnson, Mark Jackson, Flip Saunders.

Jackson does not deserve a head coaching job
He has no resume.
Never coached at ANY level

he needs to put in the time as an assistant before he has any right to be a head coach......at least any SMART GM wwould think so

Dare I say Isaiah Thomas?

June 7, 2008  01:43 PM ET

Collins was the guy. Anybody else will be closer to their plan Z.

jeff van gundy!!!!!

The Bulls are becoming such an embarassment to Chicago. These cheap owners, with their constant nickel and diming during coaching/player pursuits is totally ridiculous. How can a supposed "friendship" be the deciding factor in selecting a head coach for your franchise? Why does ReinsDORK continue to meddle in contract negotiations and such? Isn't that what the GM is for? I can seriously see Paxson not looking to re-up when his contract expires in a year.

June 7, 2008  02:24 PM ET

Scottie Pippen!!!!!!

June 7, 2008  02:27 PM ET

Scottie would suck as a coach. He'd get a migrain in week 2 of the regular season, and go on the inactive roster.

June 7, 2008  02:45 PM ET

Paxon stop giving these bafooons interveiws....
Pippen has no exp....
But does Mark Jackson, ??????
Give the legend a shot......

June 7, 2008  02:46 PM ET

Suck as a coach he coached the Bulls to 6 championships right?????

June 7, 2008  02:52 PM ET

Paxson needs to be fired and Reinsdorf needs to seel the team...They are turning this into a circus event. This organization is a joke!! Hire Avery Johnson, Scottie Pippen, or get Chuck Daley out of retirement!

June 7, 2008  03:53 PM ET

Avery. The matchups work.

June 7, 2008  03:54 PM ET

Though Avery would be VERY effective in Detroit. I don't think the Bulls want to let that happen, necessarily.

...avery would be too much like skiles and they tuned out skiles....

For the love of God, change this effing Paxson photo. We are sick of seeing it every effing day. He looks like a mass murdering zombie zoned out on morphine awaiting his first day of boot camp.

Intriguing! But Lambeer is probably (still) the most hated man in Bull history. Not sure why Johnson wouldn't work. Ben's gone and he was a malcontent. A good draft pick (maybe trade down a notch) and some other trades and the Bulls might be in business.
