Georgia FB may miss games
Georgia fullback Brannan Southerland suffered a setback in his rehabilitation of a foot injury and has had to undergo an additional surgery Friday. He could miss at least the first five games of the season. Southerland, who has been the starter for three years, could be out for as many as 16 weeks after surgery on his left foot to repair a fracture, according to Ron Courson, Georgia's director of sports medicine.

The FB is more important at the college level but I think Georgia will be able to make it by without him. They got a skilled player at the QB and RB spot so they should be okay.

He will never touch the ball in Georgia's offense. He's just a blocking back and maybe a screen pass catcher.
Hope his foot gets better !

He has started for 3 years. I think by now he knows he won't get the ball much, and get a few screen passes. The guy is a very good blocker. He will be missed.

That's kinda weird b/c Southerland went down with an injury in the first game of the '08 season in my dynasty mode in NCAA football 08 game. Jeff Owens went down too, so let's hope that does not happen either.
