Maple Leafs interim general manager Cliff Fletcher figures "the chances are better than 50/50" that Ron Wilson will be Toronto's head coach next season. "But I've been in this business a long time and nothing is ever a deal until it's a deal. There are still definite issues that have to be addressed," said Fletcher last night. Fletcher, who is on a brief visit to his off-season home in Phoenix, talked with Wilson by phone yesterday.

I doubt Fletcher would make a 50/50 remark unless he felt pretty good about Wilson coming. According to Fletcher the financial package & 4 yr term have been worked out.
Hopefully we will all know 100% for sure by Tuesday.
If not, Ole Fletch is really going to have to re-think his interim GM post and make room for Daddy.

They finished above 500 last year BGM...an no, I will not do another TD with you today. I'm busy.

You can say ass, you don't have to put a dash inbetween the A and the S.

I'm having doubts that he will sign. If its such a good deal, it would have been done by now. Maybe they're waiting for Burke's approval.

Wilson is gonna quit before the season is over if he even does sign. Its career suicide.

Ron Wilson's chances of lasting more than a year in Toronto: 50/50!

June 8, 2008  05:29 PM ET

50/50 ah!, after a year his record will be 20/50!

I'm with Baun-ded, I don't think that he would say anything unless it is pretty much a done deal. Maybe that just comes from being around the Avs and knowing their ways of not talking. If anything is said, it's done. Kinda funny that most people figured Coach Q was headed to Toronto. Now it looks like he's headed to San Jose, since the Sharks' old coach is going to get the Toronto job.

This just in, its a verbal agreement. They are just waiting for him to sign the paperwork.

There is a 50/50 chance of him coming to Toronto, but there is only a 25% chance of that.
