Partying Red Wings ding Stanley Cup
The Stanley Cup is OK after taking a tumble during the Red Wings' celebrations in Detroit. NHL spokeswoman Bernadette Mansur said Saturday that the Cup got a slight dent Friday after some players took the trophy to Cheli's Chili Bar, a downtown restaurant owned by Red Wings defenseman Chris Chelios. "I know nothing about it," said Brett Lebda, who Internet rumors insist dropped the Cup. "I didn't see a thing," Chelios said. "I looked at the Cup today and there were no dings. It's a rumor." Mansur says the dent was smoothed out, and the trophy was expected to keep making the rounds.

Yeah...Ask Chelios. The same Chelios that didn't know anything about The U.S team trashing the Hotel after being eliminated a number of years ago.
Anyway, The Wings own the cup they can do what they want with it. I'm not worried about it, the Cup is a tough as a Canadian Hockey player!

If you know the history of this trophy, a little ding is nothing. I'm sure they have a repair kit in the case they carry it in. However, I think they should have a duplicate made that they send out on the road with these liquor soaked partyers. (Who's to say they don't)

the nba is so boring to watch a full game when pressure is one in hockey and the teams are giving their all it is so much fun to watch it doesnt deserve the low ratings

It all adds to the history and legacy of the Stanley Cup, like it getting sutck at the bottom of Mario's swimming pool. I'm sure the Wings will have a great time celebrating this summer.
There are actually three Stanley Cups, two at the HOF, and the one that travels. The original at the HOF is in a vault with about a 3 ft. steel door.
