Bollinger losing Vikings battle

The quality of the Vikings' quarterbacks is debatable, but the quantity certainly is not. That was evident during the first two days of the Vikings' minicamp, as repetitions were precious for the five quarterbacks on the roster, especially the ones in the back of the pack. After second-year starter Tarvaris Jackson and new backup Gus Frerotte got their snaps, Brooks Bollinger appeared to share third-string reps with rookie John David Booty, a fifth-round draft pick. Undrafted rookie Kyle Wright settled for whatever was left over. "It's obviously different. Those guys take more (snaps), and then we go back and forth," Bollinger said of himself and Booty. "There are only so many reps." Bollinger would appear the odd man out.

How much longer before the Minnesota Vikings become the Los Angeles Vikings?

Hey Minnesota, why do you keep losing your teams?

You're talking about Wisconsin. Wrong state.

All of these QB's that Minnesota has aren't worth a damn. We keep focusing on the defense but never the offense which is completely one dimensional. Peterson is a great back who'll get burned out in a couple of years if the Vikes don't learn that they need to stretch the field.

I have high hopes for the Vikings this year. High hopes indeed.

Oh hey, it's Patriotscheated, contributing and bringing nothing to the table as always. And his new boyfriend Harry Chub stopped by as well, not sure what state he is talking about, but good for him.

I'm glad Bollinger is the odd man out, there has been no need for him now the last couple of years. And Jackson can actually learn something from Ferotte, while Booty can learn as a rookie and can probably run the offense better than Bollinger can anyways. Vikings had a great Off season and will be vastly improved in all areas.

Hey, Brooks, head to Chi-town. You'd have a better shot.

The state of Minnesota has lost the North Stars!! That's it folks. Do you honestly think they will lose the Vikings to LA. A huge city that can't even keep a football team. The new owner is a pretty stand up guy and I don't think he will move them. He is the one trying to buy up land in downtown Minneapolis and I have a feeling he will get a new stadium done. Oh by the way we got the WILD :)

timewalker ...For the record, they lost the Lakers to LA... ( George Mikan et. al.) Which is why they are called the LA Lakers....
Do not want to get into the argument, just clarify a fact.

June 8, 2008  12:41 PM ET

You lost the Lakers also timewalker. I don't think you can call the tame a real hockey team.

June 8, 2008  02:45 PM ET

"Hey Minnesota, why do you keep losing your teams?"

The Lakers left how many years ago? The North Stars... well Cleveland and the Browns, Baltimore and the Colts, Houston and the Oilers, etc.... It kind of happens in sports sometimes.

"Minnesota is a socialist state."
huh?

June 8, 2008  09:14 PM ET

And the Vikings lost all respect after throwing tradition out the window and going to those pathetic uniforms.

June 8, 2008  09:57 PM ET

Hey, Brooks, head to Chi-town. You'd have a better shot.

George W. Watson | 06/08/08, 12:23 PM

Why so we can have three mediocre QB's fighting for the 1?
No thanks we dont want him.

June 9, 2008  01:10 AM ET

John David Booty is a pretty good player, I liked him at USC and I was happy the Vikings picked him up.

When I was 14 years old, I became a Minnesota Vikngs fan. I don't want them to come to L.A. I bleed L.A. Lakers purple and Minnesota Vikings purple and want it to stay that way.

June 9, 2008  01:53 AM ET

Go to Chicago, they stockpile QB's there!

June 9, 2008  07:55 PM ET

For the record- the state didn't "loose" the North Stars"! They were moved in somewhat the same way The Browns were. The Vikes to LA? Whoever thinks that is a complete moron. Wilf hasn't put in enough time at the NFL Mens Club (Owners). Hey cheated... why don't you fill us in on what team you rub one out to? I see you have a private profile... Scared little P R I C K.

Gus Frerotte will win the starting job and take the Vikings to the Division Championship. They will lose in the second playoff to the Dallas Cowboys.
