Former Michigan running back Mike Hart is now in the NFL, and it's not quite what he thought. "The only surprise is it's not as tough as I thought it was going to be, as far as practice and those type of things," he said. "It's more laid back." Hart was selected in the sixth round of the April draft by the Colts.

I see he hasn't gotten his 'Welcome to the NFL' hit yet.....

A little reading comprehension would come in handy here, guys. He specifically says he's talking about practices. All he's saying is that he was expecting practices to be faster and more grueling than what he's used to, and they're not. Which, since he's coming from a major college program, really isn't all that surprising. It has very little to do with how hard guys hit, and nothing to do with how hard it is to play in the league.

Reading comprehension? This coming from a guy calling Michigan a major college program?? Bo Schembechler days are long gone my friend. This little tart is about to become a Ray Lewis lunch special.

We'll see if he's singing the same tune in a month or two. But hey, maybe he's been working out really hard and the practices haven't been as bad as he thought.

Hart will regret these comments much sooner than later rest assured...

Agreed EastCoast, especially because he has painted a target on his own back. Had he kept his mouth shut, he wouldn't have been singled out.

"Not as tough?"

Anyone else see a bullseye suddenly appear on THIS guy's jersey?

June 9, 2008  08:26 AM ET

I would really, really, REALLY like to just fast-forward a couple of years to the time when this clown is selling insurance. WHY CAN'T HE KEEP HIS MOUTH SHUT?!?!?! Ugh.

June 9, 2008  08:26 AM ET

He'll be out of the NFL in 3 years due to injuries

yeah we'll see if its not as tough when you get blasted by some nfl LB's for real.

June 9, 2008  08:42 AM ET

Obviously most of you have no clue how practices are ran differently in college and in the NFL. In college there are a bunch of 18-22 year olds going out there and giving it 110% every rep because they need to establish themselves as good players. In the NFL veterans have absolutely nothing to prove in practice and therefore practices arent as tough as college.

Funny he should say that when the man that protected his tail Jake Long is having a not so easy time in Dolphins training camp. Hart will not have any success in this league with comments like that. Worse part is that the media NEVER forgets and when he is injured and looking for simpathy all he will get is "How tough do you think the NFL is now?".

June 9, 2008  08:45 AM ET

Not one of you posters here have ever played in the NFL so how do you know that he is not right? You people are pathetic wishing failure on someones career.
