Jake Peavy described his 61-pitch simulated game yesterday as "rusty, OK" and even "terrible" at times. But Peavy reported that he has recovered from an elbow strain, and manager Bud Black said his ace probably will come off the disabled list to start against the Dodgers on Thursday. Peavy said he expects to benefit from another bullpen session and the adrenaline of pitching in a game.

Once again, fannation posting day-old news. Maybe I'm not understanding how they gather their blurbs for Truth&Rumors. Funny how some teams and athletes land herein T&R right on time and others never do.

He's done... just like that crappy piece of crap crap Prior.

Peavy is a stud, and this is really the first time he's got hurt. He'll be back to form soon.

007, you're stupid. Quit talking the steroids crap unless you have proof. Baseless allegations are cheap shots.

"Accident waiting to happen" !!!

June 9, 2008  11:25 PM ET

Yo, "Tell it like it is", Before you start reaming 007, maybe you should also check your facts..."..really the first time he's got hurt."... Not even close. You don't remember the 2005 NL West Series? Peavy gave up eight runs in the first game against the Cardinals and missed the rest of the season with a broken rib. He then had to completely change his pitching mechanics because he injured his shoulder in the off-season. He also had perpetual problems with his shoulder in double_A ball at Mobile for 2 years. Lee O is right - This is an accident waiting to happen.

Peavy is a stud.

Thankfully Peavy isn't going anywhere for the next few seasons.

Here's to another Cy Young in the very near future.

Go Padres!

Peavy isn't that injury prone....he is a stud, and if the Pads don't want him, the Cards would take him....
