Convicted steroids dealer David Jacobs said before his death last week he supplied Tennessee Titans linebacker Ryan Fowler with performance-enhancing drugs before and after the 2006 season, The Dallas Morning News reported Tuesday. Fowler is under investigation by the NFL in an apparent steroids case. Peter Ginsberg, Fowler's lawyer, told The Associated Press he assumed the investigation stemmed from the death of Jacobs, who police say killed himself and his girlfriend in their Plano home. Ginsberg denied Fowler took steroids. "He's never tested positive for any banned substance," the lawyer said. "The accusations are without any basis." The Morning News reported that Jacobs said Fowler credited him for helping get a four-year, $11.5 million contract from the Titans after two seasons with the Dallas Cowboys.

Usually dealers don't use their product. But this is a slow day, haha.

Wow....I mean Steriods really helped this guy be a dominating LB...i mean wow...he is sooo good. who cares? Why is it everyguy that gets a bad wrap you hear "Former Dallas Cowboy"

June 11, 2008  08:04 AM ET

Because if they mention the Cowboys, even though it has nothing to do with the rest of the story, people come to read and comment.

Suicide? How convenient. Why did he have to take his girlfriend with him? Potential witness, perhaps?

June 11, 2008  09:16 AM ET

Sad story and sad ending.. I agree. It is the girlfriend or family that gets the sad ending when a coward looks for a way out.

so lets see, Roger never tested positive and says he never did PED's..His dealer says he did.. but we dont believe Roger, we believe Brian
This guy says he didnt and hasnt tested positive but his dealer said he did... and we should believe Fowler over Jacobs?

Interesting

Im not convinced it was suicide.
You think the NFL doesnt have some sort of RICO going on ?

Lawyer: Titan didn't take steroids

Ya, that's what I'd say too. Stick to it long enough and he'll actually begin to believe it.

June 11, 2008  09:54 AM ET

Well if his Lawyer says it, that's enough to convince me.

June 11, 2008  09:57 AM ET

How can you not trust/believe an ambulance chaser? If a lawyer says it... it must be true... right?

Maybe the cowboys are mentioned because he played for them in 2006? The article states he allegedly took them before and after 2006. Just a wild guess.

I'm not either. Looking fine today, KP.

Who believes a high paid lawyer who will as a puppet say and do anything for his client for money??!! talk is cheap and at this point useless... I am getting tired of the witch hunts... test and improve the system and focus on today and the future.

June 11, 2008  12:08 PM ET

He has passed all drug tests so why shouldn't we believe him.

June 11, 2008  01:26 PM ET

I agree but a lawyer stated it does not help his case. They certainly cannot convict him on a dead mans word who took the way out as a coward..

We haven't agreed on much on here, but I'm with you 110% on this one.

we shouldn't believe him, c note, because Barry Bonds never failed a drug test either.
