Jurevicius may miss season opener

Posted: Thursday June 12, 2008 07:19AM ET

Browns receiver Joe Jurevicius might not be ready for the start of the regular season, a source close to the situation said. Jurevicius has had multiple procedures on his knee in the off-season and is still rehabbing. He's not participating in minicamp, and it's not yet known what he'll be able to do in training camp. The source said it's much too early to predict whether he'll be ready for the season.

Joe with an actual SB Ring. Not stolen or anything.

Big suprise

Report Offensive Comment

He is a good player but it is not like he is necessary to have on the field for their first game of the season. As a veteran he helped the young guys like Braylon out with his presence in Cleveland last year but this year they should do well regardless of if he plays much or not.
I still like and respect this guy though. He is a real player's player.

Time to give Keyshawn Johnson a call !!!

Report Offensive Comment

Call Keyshawn? The Browns do not recycle players like the Cowboys.

Report Offensive Comment

They really don't need Keyshawn either. Stallworth should make up for Joe's not being there. Edwards is their number one and Winslow is really the number two pass catcher as the TE.

Report Offensive Comment

Read somehwere else he has a staph infection. Yes another Browns palyer with a staph infection, that's like 6 or 7.

If that is the case he could miss the entire season. It really makes you question the medical/training staff.

Report Offensive Comment

He doesn't have a staph infection.....knock it off. Its the same injury that he had the entire '07 season. Joe was the 3rd WR anyways.....Kellen Winslow and Joshua Cribbs can easily play that role.

Report Offensive Comment

this is as interesting as the Joe Horn article on T&R a few weeks ago. It's not at all.

Um Braylon, Winslow, Stalworth, and Joe Jura-who? By the way, Joe Horn is a piece of garbage.

Report Offensive Comment

It said in the Cleveland paper that he acquired a staff infection after the surgery and is still recouping from that.

Report Offensive Comment

Outisde of Joe Cribbs returning three freakin kick returns for touchdowns every game against the Steelers this guy has done more damage than any present Brown's player has

Report Offensive Comment

He??s told ClevelandBrowns.com He??ll be ready for Camp.

Report Offensive Comment

Staph infection... Where did he get the procedure done? I would think with some of the great medical facilities in Cleveland this would be a minor infection or hopefully a rumor.

Report Offensive Comment

Well now we know why the Browns are looking at trading for Parker from SD.
