Magic may lose veteran center

The Magic have been informed guard Keith Bogans will honor the final year of his contract with the team, but veteran center Adonal Foyle has decided to opt out of his deal and become an unrestricted free agent. Both Bogans and Foyle have to declare their intentions before June 15. Foyle, 33, was set to make $1.26 million next season with the Magic, but instead will seek more money, contract years and playing time elsewhere. Foyle, who averaged 1.9 points and 2.5 rebounds while playing just 9.4 minutes a game behind center Dwight Howard, could still re-sign with the Magic, but that isn't likely.

Huge loss for Orlando. Adonal Foyle really expanded Dwight Howards game.

Tony Battie will be back next year, this is not a huge loss

June 12, 2008  10:09 AM ET

Let's see, he averages 1.9 points and 2.5 rebounds a game...Don't let the door hit you in the **** on the way out!

Adonal Foyal, on the open market?!? What is he saying big money, big money no whammie's............buzz. of to europe to play for a while.

June 12, 2008  10:45 AM ET

Isiah Thomas would be thrilled, and willing to sign him for a 3-yr $25M deal......ohhhhh alas, he doesn't have that power now

June 12, 2008  10:50 AM ET

Adonal who? . . . my point exactly!

June 12, 2008  11:03 AM ET

Nothing like abandoning a sinking ship !!!

June 12, 2008  11:33 AM ET

This is quite possibly the funniest thing I've in YEARS...does he really think he's gonna get paid somewhere else??? He better take his 1.4 from the bench like he's supposed to!!!

miami is an option

Another Miami comment, heat fans are annoying, every thread, same comments.

I watched Adonal play for the Warriors for many years and can see him getting picked up by a number of NBA teams. He's never been a big scorer, but he's a solid defender/rebounder and a good presence in the looker room. I'll bet he at least doubles his salary with a 3 year deal. Wallace got $60 mil for 4 years, Adonal can easily get $8 mil for 3 years.

Joe, lol..imagine Blount being your favorite team's starting center. damn, the heat do need a strong center especially with a softy like Blount who doesn't seem to care that people question his toughness. however i think he's a bit old, but cartwright helped the bulls for years, but if i'm with the heat, I would probably look elsewhere for a trade where we may be able to get rid of blount. heck, maybe blount may come back a savage and play the post, knock shaq off the blocks, and go hard to the middle, but i doubt it...

June 12, 2008  02:12 PM ET

Gosh, where will they make up those points and rebounds. They better do soemthing quick. Why is this a story.

June 12, 2008  11:10 PM ET

There are a number of places where Foyle could possibly get more playing time. but more money, contract years? The guy is 33 years old, he's been in the league 10 years and has never averaged more than 6 points a game--he's making $1.2 million. What does he think he's worth? If there was any justice in the world, he'd be in Europe or playing recreation league ball somewhere.

Mia is NOT an option...

June 13, 2008  03:37 AM ET

NOOOOOOOO!!! NOT A D O N A L FOYLE!

wait, does he even get playing time on the court?
