Coyotes winger to test market

All signs point to Coyotes right wing Radim Vrbata testing the free-agent market. Vrbata was signed by the Coyotes to a one-year, $1.225 million contract prior to last season after being obtained in a trade with the Blackhawks. He was the Coyotes' second-leading scorer (27-29-56), but he was without a goal in the last 22 games of the season. Vrbata, who will turn 27 on Friday, has said several times that he would like to return to the Coyotes.

Radim Vrbata was going nowhere in Chicago. The Coyotes rescued his career and gave him a fair shot. He did very well for most of the year then run out of gas toward the end of the season, which is understandable since he never got to play much in Chicago. Big difference between playing 7- 8 games and playing 70 to 80!

Coyotes will resign him..raise to maybe 2.5 - 3.0

He has decent stats this guy. Mhwings is right, 2.5-3 is right for this player. Seriously Ever...that thing creeps me out....

I agree DC cruiser. The Yotes gave him a good chance at playing with teammates he said he liked (many czechs: Hanzal, Michalek,...) on many occasions although he never had as good numbers before.
Maloney said he'll give him the $3.5 Mil he commanded if they reached the playoffs but he faded in the last 2 weeks so the $2 or $2.2 Mil they offered him was probably more than fair and yet, he spits at them thinking he'll be picked up by the Pens or another contestant. Sorry, Radim, very disappointing of you.
