NBA guaranteed first-round picks?
Suspicious eyes noted the absence of several candidates for this month's draft at last week's predraft camp in Orlando. The conclusion: These lads must have guarantees from teams picking in the first round and decided to blow it off. Among the missing were early-entry candidates Sean Williams of Boston College, Arizona's Marcus Williams, LSU's Glen "Big Baby" Davis, UCLA's Aaron Afflalo, and Southern Cal's Gabe Pruitt.

They guarantee them those picks so if they do good they won't go higher up, so the team that guaranteed them can pick them.. and it is less work for the athletes.
