Malkin wants Pens extension

Evgeni Malkin did not leave the NHL Awards Show at Elgin Theatre on Thursday night with either the Hart Trophy or the Lester B. Pearson Award. But he said the prize he really covets -- a long-term contract extension with the Penguins -- is on its way. "I'm thinking maybe five or six years," said Malkin, set to enter the final season of his three-year entry-level deal. "I'm an easy guy to deal with. I'd love to stay in Pittsburgh."

That's right. Take a huge paycut and rely on marketing--wait Lurch you are way too ugly. That won't work.

Don't care what ya say...Trade This Guy NOW. The Pens could get good return for him right now. Keep Malone, Hossa, Staal, Fleury (arbitration) and work from there. They could get a top line Dman, a couple prospects and a 1st round pick for him now. Like I said before I'll eat my words happily if proven wrong, but I think this guy is another Kovalev.

Malkin: "I'm an easy guy to deal with." .... as long as they pay me what I want!

He was horrible in the finals......then again, so was the whole team despite the lopsided officiating ordered by Bettman.

Bostongm....hahahahahhha yourself.
As a matter of fact, Kovalev was a legitimate contender for the Hart. Without him, the Habs don't even get anywhere close to sniffing first place in the East.
Give credit where its due, he had a great year and meant more to his team than anyone else.
Malkin will not have his contract even considered until next season. Too many other deals to be worked out. They will also be able to evaluate the Team and Malkins season before the Trade deadline as well as their budget.
I am seriously starting to think that Bostongm would very much enjoy having Malkin over for a boston tea party at his private residence...

I didn't say he should win it...I said and do say that he was a legitimate candidate that deserved consideration certainly.
I think the final 3 were the right choices...but Kovey had a very strong year and was the MVP of his team without question. They did finish in 1st place you know.

Malkin needs to learnEnglish, get an attitude adjustment and deal with adversity better. It would seem to be lunacy totrade him, butrather than lose him as a UFA someday when he is a cash cow now and could not only secure talented, young replacements for others whom might jumpship. Pens are loaded at center

Malkin needs to learnEnglish

Ovechkin's English isn't that great either but I don't hear too many people making an issue over it....

Steelers....geez, he's only been in the country for a couple of years. Gonch has been doing a good job with him. If I had to go to Russia and learn their language I'd feel kind of hesitant on national TV, too.

Ya nye pani mayu ( in Memphis we would just translate that as "I is ignorant" ).
