Bengals backfield in motion

The Bengals did not draft a running back in April, and they apparently are not interested in signing Shaun Alexander. But the lineup is not set in the backfield. Daniel Coats has been moved from tight end to fullback, where he is competing with incumbent starter Jeremi Johnson. Johnson is having what is becoming an annual battle with his weight. He appears to be significantly heavier than his listed 260 pounds and has been relegated to working on the sideline with strength and conditioning coaches during minicamp.

Jeremi Johnson does his job every year. He'll be the starter again. Coaches are just giving Coats a chance to stick with the team since he could be the odd man out at TE.

Not much of a running game will drastically effect the passing game. Not to mention several people's fantasy rosters.

Why does nobody want Alexander? Did he really fall off so far that he cant get a starting job in the NFL? WOW

The Bonjangle Bangals have no running game now, not last year, not five years ago, not since.....I can't remember them ever having one. And don't give me that "Icky" crap. He was a dance craze more than a RB. Sorry to say it, but your seasons over before it starts.....and that statement doesn't even take into account your "non-running" game. Sorry for all the hate, not enough coffee quite yet.
