Boldin undecided about camp
Anquan Boldin, who skipped all four weeks of the Cardinals' voluntary organized team activities as he seeks a new contract, said he wasn't sure if he would be attending training camp. "I honestly can't say at this point," Boldin said in a text message. General manager Rod Graves declined to get into specifics about Boldin attending camp or the state of contract negotiations. But he emphasized Boldin remains important to the franchise.

Show up. It makes it look like you are still a great teammate and the fans will like you even more if you do. And I think if he does show up they'll give him some more money

Please, no more players missing camp because of contract negotiations. kspice is right, by showing up and doing what's expected of you will carry more weight with management than sitting out and looking like a brain dead loser.

Shouldn't you have to be productive to ask for more money? Just a thought.

Why is it that when a player signs a, say six year contract, that he isn't bound to that team for six years....and if he wants to sit out, then fine, sit out! And until you start playing, you make no money at all. And that's the way it is for the entirety of the six year contract. Why can these guys sign what is a "good deal" for them today, and then hold out for a "better deal" tomorrow? This is out of control!

sorry he had 9td's in 12 games, not bad. Still holding out is bull, like BoBo said, you signed a f'n contract. Stick to it or don't get paid!

If he's stupid enough to sit out, so be it...

Play the game and quit complaining about money!!! You signed a contract, now fulfill it! Why is it that a binding contract is now just a guideline instead of law. Try this ANYWHERE else and see how long you stick around.

That little "C" on his uniform says it all. The team needs his presence at camp. He still has three years on his deal so he really needs to show up.

I guess that "C" will be on another player this season. This curesed franchise finally has a chance to do something in a weak division and yet, something always comes up to screw them.......way to go Boldin!!!

Not necessarily. Unfortunately Team Captains are voted on by the team so the team could still vote him as one. The problem is if he was voted one last year he already commands the respect of his teammates. They need him in camp and especially to be happy one way or the other. If he becomes a cancer on the team it could definitely spread faster if he is the team captain.

Problem Solved: When you sign a player to a 6 year fill in the blank million dollar contract, they do not get the guaranteed portion until the final year. They can change it from a signing bonus, to a completing the contract bonus. If a player wants to rework his contract before it's up, he'll lose the bonus.

Benson was never going to succeed with the Bears. Many think taking him at the 4 pick was a waste and the time and it appears it was. Moreover, with his hold out and playing with Thomas Jones (whom everyone loved) were all the nails needed in that coffin. Therefore, why wouldn't Mike Brown, Brian Urlacher, Lance Briggs, and others try to help put that "coffin" into the ground?

Apologies for the random comment above...
They better do all they can to sign him. Fitzy is awesome, but Bolden is a HUGE part of that offense and Fitz would not be as good without him. Bolden makes that entire offense so much better. Get it done AZ or once again your team will be excelled to mediocrity, ONCE AGAIN!

Just another indicator that the majority of NFL players could care less about winning, they just care about the paycheck and the lifestyle. His teammates will support him because they think the same as he does. I'm waiting for the day when one of these teams sues a star player for breach of contract and bankrupts them through legal costs.

This has gotten so old, every year at this time it's another player holding out because they either want a contract extension worth more money, or they had a good year and want more money. When was the last time a player had a bad year and offered to take less the next year? Teams should be able to lower the hammer on any player refusing to do the mandatory stuff, this affects the WHOLE team when they holdout.

everyone seems to forget that this is the only league without guaranteed contracts. that is why this is the only league with these kinds of problems. the money is not guaranteed. just b/c he has 3 years left doesn't mean that the team will keep him there for 3 more years. they don't have to honor their end, he doesn't have to honor his.
