Three North Carolina underclassmen -- rising senior wingman Danny Green and junior guards Wayne Ellington and Ty Lawson -- are expected to make decisions today after meetings with coach Roy Williams. Green said Friday that his plans were to reach a decision Sunday, but he delayed his call when a scheduled conference with Williams was switched to today.

it would be best for all three to come back and get better with another year of college. Go Heels!!!!!

Damn, we finally agree on something!

June 16, 2008  09:28 AM ET

I think it would be a bad business decision for them to go-

Only Lawson would be a first rounder this year- assuming his recent arrest isn't a problem.

If they stayed- in school- Green and Lawson would move up SIGNIFICANTLY
Ellington.....not sure.....he might have maxed out already-

June 16, 2008  09:51 AM ET

Man somebody needs to talk to these kids. Not just from UNC (GO HEELS!!!) but from all these colleges. Who is tellling these kids that they have what it takes to go pro? Don't get me wrong some have what it takes but some still need to improve their game before they reach the next level.

So if they played each other in bb, you'd pull for the heels? In that case how about noles/heelsfan33? Not trying to question your loyalty but a nole is a nole throughout. How 'bout that track team huh? THREE STRAIGHT NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIPS. GO NOLES!!!!!!!!!!!!!

June 16, 2008  10:40 AM ET

Go Heels!!! I bet Lawson will come back becuase of his injuries and his driving incident. We need him, and if he did come back the Heels would go all the way.

June 16, 2008  10:53 AM ET

ha ha... I agree with Nolesdabomb. Find a school and support them all around. Example- I am a Jayhawks fan and football isn't our game, but what do you know, we went bowling this year. Ohh, remember Roy wearing a Jayhawk sticker. Just thought I'd remind you Tarheel fans!!!

June 16, 2008  11:07 AM ET

Hey Riddy, you can't be talkin you got about 17 favorite teams- that's ridiculous

June 16, 2008  11:47 AM ET

I think they all should go pro. Lawson is a first rounder and if he hurt his ankle again it could lead to serious durability questions. Ellington is a shooter and there are plenty of NBA teams that need outside shooting. Green is a well rounded player who deserves better than to be overshadowed by the great white hope

June 16, 2008  11:48 AM ET

Ellington and Green should return, Lawson should not. With his latest actions, doesnt seem he wants to come back to school. But, as a Jayhawk fan I hope all 3 leave. That was fun being up 40-12 on UNC haha.

"I'm a Florida State football fan and a Tar Heel basketball fan. Pretty much I just jump on the winning bandwagon."

Pick a school and like them.

No such thing as a bad decision when you are talking about making millions of $$$. Sorry, but they are to think for themselves and their family, not us fans as much as we would like for them to.

June 16, 2008  11:51 AM ET

Ellington and Green WILL return if they are smart. Neither one of them are in anyone's first round plans.

Lawson will probably go. It seems the whole mock draft world has him tied to the Nuggets with the 20th pick. George Karl will probably snatch his fellow Tar Heel up.

That's assuming they get drafted in the first round. Not all NBAers are making the big bucks and only first rounders are guarenteed a contract.

June 16, 2008  01:33 PM ET

JRich, I like to follow teams in cities that I have lived in. That doesn't mean they are my fav. And is it really 17? I never counted...haha

June 16, 2008  02:02 PM ET

I believe they should all stay for four years. Alot of kids leave college not promised everything (1st round selection) then end up not being drafted or in the NBDL. The way they played in the NCAA tournament I fell they should all come back and increase their stock for next. I say enjoy college but on the other hand you never know what could happen. Knee injury, etc..

Also, they are leaving Tyler Hansborough hanging because he wanted to win a championship but with those three gone.. It will be very hard to accomplish.

Good luck guys!!!!!!

Go Heels!!!!

June 16, 2008  03:26 PM ET

early reports are saying all three are returning to chapel hill. should be an official announcement made by the school in the next few hours.

Good moves by Ellington and Green to return. No one has heard from Lawson yet, but even if he stays in the Tar Heels are in good shape for next season.
