Perkins doubtful for Finals return

A glum Kendrick Perkins wrestled with an especially troubling question last night. Held out of the 103-98 loss to the Lakers in Game 5 because of a strained left shoulder that had required surgery only two years ago, Perkins faced the real possibility that he had played in his last NBA Finals game. "I would say that would probably be doubtful," coach Doc Rivers said before the game of Perkins returning to the floor for Game 6 at the Garden.

it will go to game 7 and celtics will win by 3

June 16, 2008  07:53 AM ET

we still alive...it wasn't a pretty win,but a win is a win and now we going back to Boston...Perkins is out,Rondo is hurt,Garnett is not playing a top level and Pierce played 47 minutes in game 5,add the coast to coast flight and if the Celts bench don't make significant contributions in game 6,we have a good chance to push a game 7...in the meantime:

"Still lovely in Lakerland"

i think it WILL go 7 games, I think the celtics will pull a bigger choke job than the lakers did in game 4 and totally blow the series lead. Kobe hasn't had a breakout game yet and i strongly feel that he will in game 6, and you all know that if there is a game 7 more than likely KB24 will show up and SHOW OUT!!!!

June 16, 2008  08:10 AM ET

I said before the Celts even left for LA, they had to come back 3-2 .. Game 6 will be a humdinger..
Both teams have to make that coast to coast trip..
Boston will be ready.

June 16, 2008  08:11 AM ET

I picked the Celtics in 7. I stand by my prediction.

"A limited number of tickets for Games 6 and 7 will go on sale today at 11 a.m. There is a two-ticket limit per customer, and seats start at $30. Visit www.celtics.com for details.".Boston Herald.

that's it? just 30 bucks?....damn tickets are cheaper in Boston...

June 16, 2008  08:19 AM ET

it's not yet over..2 more games!!!!

those seats are closer to LA than they are to the floor....

I picked the Celtics in 7. I stand by my prediction.

I picked 6 but 7's ok too.....

June 16, 2008  08:41 AM ET

Bean town better wrap this up in game 6. I wouldn't want a game 7 against a guy that can singlehandedly beat you.

June 16, 2008  09:25 AM ET

KP,
I was caught between wishing they would close the deal yesterday and wanting then to win at home..Tuesday in a rout, bolstered by the most intensive crowd ever in the Garden....

June 16, 2008  09:34 AM ET

Anyone who wants to know who'll win should ask Stern.

June 16, 2008  10:14 AM ET

Lakers are terrible. IF KG woulda hit the FTs, it'd be over. But Kobe & CO can schedule vacation after game 6 cuz "It's Over In Lakerland"...
Perkins, take a shot & get out there!

June 16, 2008  10:21 AM ET

Mr. Stern, I know Kobe's the MVP and all, but could we just let the players determine this one? Please ? Please? Well, at least think about it, OK?

Oops! 1/3 of the miracle complete and IT'S STILL LOVELY...
