Nuggets' Camby could be on the move

Marcus Camby's days as a Nugget could be limited, according to an NBA source, because he is the most attractive player they would be open to moving. It's no secret Denver is looking to trim salary after a disappointing season. Teams have shown little interest in Kenyon Martin and Nene because of their injury concerns and contracts. While the Nuggets would trade Allen Iverson, he is expected to exercise an option that will pay him a hefty $20.8 million next season. And while there have been rumors about Carmelo Anthony being moved, he is one of the most talented players and would be tough to replace. Somebody has to go, though.

You're kidding, right? Denver brass should be drug tested if they agree to that!

Isn't there always talk about Camby being traded? I'll believe it when it happens.

June 16, 2008  09:10 AM ET

If this is serious I would like to see him in a SPURS Uniform

June 16, 2008  09:13 AM ET

I really think this year he will be traded and many teams could use him.. should be interesting.

June 16, 2008  09:13 AM ET

Heat Fan always throws in these ridiculous trades on FN.

Heat Fan, for trades to be feasible 1) the money has to work and 2) the other team should have reason to do it too...

Camby is a beast. Love his style of play. He will definitely help someone. I would love to see him as a starter with the Pistons starting 4, but I am not sure if Pistons have enough to get him without moving a starter in some kind of package.

June 16, 2008  09:14 AM ET

Camby is a nice defensive piece......
but in reality he's not an 'impact' player....and I'm not sure of what value he really has at this point in his career...he's already in his mid 30s

all hail rodney stuckey

June 16, 2008  09:45 AM ET

Melo has proven to be such a winner in Denver any team should **** backwards to get him. If Denver does trade Camby then who exactly will be playing any defense for them next year?

June 16, 2008  09:55 AM ET

"f Denver does trade Camby then who exactly will be playing any defense for them next year? "

who played D for them year ?

June 16, 2008  09:55 AM ET

this year ?

June 16, 2008  10:07 AM ET

Heat fan, please support another team...or stay out of the sun...
KMart & Nene are done. AI, Camby, & Melo should be enough to get out of the 1st round. If they could get Gooden from Chi for one or both of those two, they'll be solid.

They still need a big guy. Maybe a second round draft pick for Amare?

June 16, 2008  10:17 AM ET

Heat's starting 5:
Wade
Kobe
Lebron
Marion
Amare

June 16, 2008  10:21 AM ET

Marion doesn't have NEARLY as much trade value as Heat Fan seems to think...
I'd love to see Camby in San Antonio, but all the Spurs really have to offer are some expiring deals; presumably the Nuggets want to get back some talent IN ADDITION to trimming payrole to contend while Iverson is still an effective player. Plus, if the Spurs aren't sure that Camby will put them over the hump, it'll just be better to let those deals expire and make a run at free agency next year. The number one way teams screw themselves is making trades with expiring contracts for guys that are overpayed for what they do.

June 16, 2008  10:21 AM ET

Spurs could you him as a short fix.. so could several teams..

June 16, 2008  10:23 AM ET

Camby is the only one that plays defense on that team. They lose him they only get worse. Martin is very disappointing because he just hasn't lived up to his being a 2nd overall pick. He did some good things in Jersey for a while but then was a part of a sign and trade to the Nuggets. I don't know if you can pin it on injuries, attitude, or something else but he is a disappointment.
