Report: Vikes interested in WR Rogers
We're checking on this one because it seems like a long shot but the Saginaw (Mich.) News reported Sunday that former Lions receiver Charles Rogers is going to workout for the Vikings. Actually, that came from Rogers' former high school coach Don Durrett. "He's had a couple workouts with some teams and has a workout with the Minnesota Vikings," Durrett said. "He's getting caught up [with playing in the NFL again]. I tell him to play where he can play and enjoy it. People get caught up on where the best spot for him is." Durrett's comment come after Rogers made a verbal agreement to play with Montreal of the CFL but never signed his contract and did not go to training camp with the team.

Is there anyone in the NFL besides Matt Millen who is stupid enough to get involved with Charles Rogers?

Charles Rogers have paid more than a penalty for his misdeeds and I'm all for second chances as long as the guy deserves it. I'd like to see him back in the league if he's worthy, with all these pain in the (a)ss wide receivers dominating the news lately it would be nice to see a reclamation project.

He'll be good for 2 or three plays, then he'll break something.

Wow.. I am all for chances but he is an injury waiting to happen.. I guess it will be worth the risk if he comes very cheap.

He could end up as a back-up, but I don't think we're gonna see him playing any regular season games anytime soon.

Wait! You mean Bernie Berrien isn't enough? With the amount they're paying him he better make more plays than he did in Chicago. I hope they're not expecting him to do anything other than catch a deep ball every three games... oh, wait. That's the only pass Tragedy Jackson can make, so it might actually work out. Charles Rogers is a bad pick up if you ask me... so the Vikes should do it!

i totally agree drj. what's so bad about bringing this guy in? he'll be super cheap and he is high reward. he would be the fourth receiver behind wade, rice, and berrian. We all saw him in college at MSU and the extreme talent he possesses.
I'm a huge vikings fan and am all for this!

Can't blame the Vikes for trying him out. They would get him cheap and if they didn't need him they can let him go. Weren't the Vikes the team that gave a quaterback $40,000 to fly in and pick up a check and then cut him. Something like that.

Even if he is a bust he will come cheap be deep in the roster. I cannot judge Rogers as being one of the biggest busts in the NFL unless you take into account the garbage team he has played for. He hasn't had a decent QB, or OL to protect the QB so garbage passes are off pattern and equal a greater chance at injury. If we want him Brzezinski will figure out a no risk contract.

Did I see someone do a pun of 'Tarvaris Jackson' as 'Tragedy Jackson'. That's a pretty contrived pun. I don't think they would even use it on 'Tales from the Crypt'.
