Chiefs don't budge on Green
The Dolphins' upgraded offer for Kansas City quarterback Trent Green did little to stimulate movement toward a deal. Green worked with the first team during the second day of minicamp on Saturday. He signed autographs longer than the scheduled 15 minutes. It could have been his last practice in Arrowhead Stadium.

The guy is 39 years old or something, he played half a season last year because of the concussion... What leverage does K.C. have to ask for a 4th rounder? Miami has sucked booty for years now, one more year won't be that bad if it means getting a decent, young QB!

the Chiefs are going to take the deal sooner or later...the Dolphins know this, thats why they are not budging on trade talks. The Chiefs are looking at paying Green if he stays on the roster, and that's not happening

I think this is all pretty simple.
If the Dolphins won't give up a 4th round pick (like the 100th pick in the draft) for the guy they say they want to start for them this season and instead act like they have some kind of shrewd front office then they can count on the Chiefs waiting until 2 seconds before the start of the season to release Green. The Chiefs don't owe Green a dime until then. The Chiefs are betting that a better offer could come their way once camps start and the possibility of some other QB getting injured grows, and why wouldn't they?
Then the Dolphins can start their first game with a QB who just came in off the street.... or start Cullpepper... or better yet, Lemon. Wow, what a shrewd front office. This drama is brought to you solely as courtesy of a Dolphins front office that thinks it has leverage when it in fact has none.
Here's a clue for you Cam Cam... give up the pick and bring your guy to camp...or give up and announce to the world that you have moved on. I mean its not like anybody is going to care about the Dolphins after about week 4 anyway.

Mueller would make the trade decision, not Cam.
I wouldn't give up anything more than a 7th rounder for Trent Green. He'll be lucky if he can play two more years. He didn't look impressive last year before, or after the concussion. Huard was better than him through either stretch.
If the Dolphins want to gain leverage, they should pull their offer from the table again. Force Trent to go TO on the Chiefs front office. We know he seriously wants out of KC. Dolphins should have made a push for Carr and gave him a workout, he at least has about 7-9 more years in the league.

i think TG can help the dolphins a lil bit but it will take more than just one player to help a team

KC has no leverage. First, even if a better offer comes by Green has to agree to restructure, which he says he won't. So I don't see an offer coming. Second, if Green suffers any injury KC is on the hook for his salary.

KC and the Phins suck, but that aside, this is no way to treat a guy who has played well for you for years, and is a leader in the community. I think this makes KC look like the fool. But I guess business is business and years of loyalty be damned.
