Texas Tech lands QB commitment
Friendswood senior Jacob Karam said Monday night that he has orally committed to Texas Tech, giving the Red Raiders their first quarterback recruit in the Class of 2009. Karam (6-2, 200), ranked by Rivals.com as the No. 19 dual-threat quarterback recruit in the nation (No. 6 in Texas), chose Tech over offers from Louisville, Missouri, Stanford, Utah, Houston, Arizona and South Florida.

Great for a QB that wants to throw the entire game. Great talent at WR already there in Lubbock.

good signing, more mobility means more rollouts, etc.... guy oughta put up 600 yds a game (as opposed to the normal 500)

If he stays at QB. Robert Johnson and Michael Crabtree were HS QB's who were moved to receiver. It worked out well for both of them.

Won't matter they will never contend for a Big 12 title until they recruit some defense.

Too true Stevedubya. You can't win a title scoring 50-60 points a game when your defense allows the same ppg.

TTU is just getting better. Hats off to a program that has to recruit in Lubbock. Ever been there? Well its nothing to write home about (well, email!). Leach has done a great job. Without defense they will not win the Big 12 championship or go to BCS, but they are making strides vs. UT/OU and remember they are 10-3 vs. TAMU the past 13 years. Rivals? Think not.
