05:11 AM ET 06.18 | Officials with USA Basketball have begun to extend formal invitations in recent days. Sources confirmed that Jason Kidd received a call Monday to let him know he would be part of the 12-man roster that competes for the U.S. in this summer's Beijing Games. U.S. Olympic coach Mike Krzyzewski has maintained for months that he would carry three point guards on the roster, in part, because of Kidd's age (35). New Orleans' Chris Paul and Utah's Deron Williams are considered the favorites for the other two spots.
