Vols beat Memphis to prized recruit
The Tennessee and Memphis men's basketball teams went head to head earlier this year and the Vols won. It happened again Tuesday. Highly touted recruit Emmanuel Negedu ended two weeks of mystery and committed to the Vols, ending a battle between UT, Memphis, Indiana and Georgia Tech. "They made me feel like I was already going to school there," Negedu told Rivals.com. "They made me feel like I had already been a part of their team and everyone there, the students, the people, everyone, made me feel like I was at home." Negedu (6-foot-8, 255) is a native of Nigeria who prepped at Brewster Academy in New Hampshire. He signed with Arizona but received a release after issues arose involving the Wildcats' coaching staff.
