While criticizing the NFL's investigation of the Patriots' videotaping procedures, Senator Arlen Specter (R-Pa.) had refrained from asking his colleagues to become involved, but he still left open the possibility of future congressional hearings. Yet in a meeting with the Philadelphia Daily News editorial board Monday, Specter indicated hearings are no longer an option. "I'm not going to call for hearings, because the mood is not right and we've got too many other bigger problems to deal with," Specter told the editorial board, according to a transcript provided by Specter's press office. The NFL has no plans to conduct an independent investigation, feeling its multilayered probe during and after the season was extensive.

It would be bad for the NFL to look like a bunch of oney greedy hoesss. For real. The Patriots lost the biggest game in NFL history and at the same time.....made theirselves look like fools. Moss making them spreading gestures....what a mamma's boy. Did she like that?

June 18, 2008  07:00 AM ET

Bond,

Moss is nothing more than a gangbanger with talent. If have to expect him to act like that.

We all know the Patriots have been cheating all along.

Did we really need to see ANOTHER pic of Belicheater? Arlen's near-cadaver-like mug would have been more appropriate here.

Moss is from West Virginia and spends most of his free time fishing by himself

There's no place like Boston right now.

June 18, 2008  08:13 AM ET

its about time. the pats cheated and they know it. they paid the price with a hefty fine and a draft pick. lets get on with it.

June 18, 2008  08:15 AM ET

And more chance for the hate to come out. T&R is on fire today.

June 18, 2008  08:18 AM ET

Let me know when Specter gives up the ghost.

June 18, 2008  08:44 AM ET

Has Bill taken up Tai Chi?

Doesn't Senator Arlen Specter and the bunch of inept cronies he's hanging out have more important thinks to worry about? Like gas prices, for instance?

If these goof balls (Spector & Co) applied the same standards they use to judge everybody else to their own shameful misshandling of the people's money and business, they'd all be in jail!

June 18, 2008  09:41 AM ET

Arlen will wait til about a week before the regular season starts, and then he'll be calling for some heads to roll because of spygate. This will only infuriate the Patriots, and make them dig out the other tapes they accidentally on purpose forgot to turn over to Rodger and his associates and go on to devour every team they play again.

June 18, 2008  09:44 AM ET

DCruiser hit that on the head.I was joking around on my previous post.

What do you want Congress to do, make gas prices even higher? They have some responsibility for making them as high as they are now.

Even if that were not the case, tell me, what should they do?

June 18, 2008  10:02 AM ET

Good. Now do something about gas prices you moron.
