Beasley denies character questions
Questions continue to follow projected top-two NBA Draft pick Michael Beasley about ''character issues,'' but he revealed an interesting exchange with Bulls officials. ''They asked if I was crazy,'' Beasley, a power forward from Kansas State, told Chicago reporters Tuesday. ``I left that one unanswered.'' Beasley had his individual workout with the Bulls, who have the top pick June 26. He brushed off questions about his character -- including why he attended seven high schools in five states -- and showed his sense of humor during his media session.

Character issues? With a 19 year man child that only spent one year in college so he could enter the NBA. What a shock?

Hey man....I got news for you people. We all a little nuts. Me too. A freak is a freak. You just are not living if you are not enjoying life. You think people are holy....or whatever you may want to think, but you be wrong. Have fun and enjoy life.....stay out of jail, respect women....do not get lost in the woman's world. Have fun before you die because life is short. Chill.

With all the agents that are getting paid a lot of money the "crazy " part question might just be true.

Ah yes, Heat Fan, right on time with the dumb comment of the day, boy that train is never late.....
I never heard one word about Beasley's character during the College season and now in advance of the draft, it's popping up. Where is this coming from? Very weird I must say. I guess we'll truly see whatever his character is once he signs that dotted line and becomes a millionaire.

Forget the character issue...he is only 6 foot 7! I smell a Marcus Fizer lemon on the way. He won't tear it up in the NBA the way he did in college.

I think that's the point! If a team is about to guarantee millions of dollars and entrust the future of the franchise for the next decade to a 19-year-old, I think it has the right to ask questions about character.
That's why the Heat is hoping to trade this pick. Beasley is not a future star, and anyone who attends 7 high schools in 5 states has some serious baggage.

Does anybody see J.R. Ryder here? Beasley is too talented to pass up, but I think he should come with a "Buyer Beware" tag. I think that once he gets NBA money in his pocket, the real Michael Beasley wiil surface. That's not to say that teams should pass on him but his immaturity combined with millions of dollars is a recipe for disaster.

the question of character really only came up when he had a few incidents while in college. they were stupid immature things that were not atypical of a 18-19 yr old kid. i agree with Tell it like it is, in that when you are about to invest millions in a kid you want to know a little bit more about him than can he put the ball in the hole or grab some boards. anything short of that would just be bad business.
but i do think this kid can make a splash on the nba seen. even tho a little short i think he has potential to be a all-star PF in the league.

HOLY ****! i am getting sick of this height ****. First of all stop exageratting. He measured in 6'8 and a quarter at the nba combine or whereever they do the height. Granted, That was with baskteball shoes on but i doubt he is going to be playing barefoot. Anyways so what of his height. He can flat out play. He isa great basketabll player regardless of a couple of inches. He needs to imrpove but I can guarantee he wont bbe a bust. Now I haven't seen Rose play too much but when I did I wasnt impressed especially by his poor jumpshooting. But i dunno. He could be better than beasley but I feel veery confident saying Beasley will be a good if not great player.

I hear ya and in no way am I defending this kid, I just find it a little odd that we never heard a peep about character issues in this 24/7/365 sports news cycle. Maybe they just did a great job of insulating him from the press while he was at K-State.
